I can't see him blame it on the alcohol. He is giving context to the situation while clearly stating that he is hurting those around him. This honesty is rare and the first step to change. You really shouldn't be twisting someones words like that. It makes you look bad

It doesn’t sound like he’s blaming the alcohol, it sounds like he’s taking responsibility for abusing alcohol to the point that it makes him abusive towards others.

In any case, I’m just glad he’s holding himself accountable for his actions, more than I can say about most people in Hollywood.

As someone in recovery for various substances, I can say addiction can completely change who you are as a person. You do things you normally wouldn't do when using. Apart of recovery is taking accountability for your actions and making amends. Idk the whole situation but as long as he's remorseful and making things right that's at least somewhat redeemable

Listen man, as an alcoholic, we drink to cope. Even when we're mad, and that's when things get bad. It takes away all of our restraints and we then act on how we feel. If we manage to quit drinking, we will be happier and we won't do bad things. I've never done anything super bad while sober.
