The original also comes with a funnel which is useful when making coffee at home with your own mug

Aeropress go is so easy and compact to carry, I have it with me all the time, with a tiny bag of coffee and fits in my pockets

How about another video with a focus on the main parts? I'm looking for a side-by-side of the central unit; just the chamber, plunger, and filter holder; dimensions, and what they look like side-by-side. The other parts are pretty much extras, and most aren't needed IMO.

Also, why was there no mention of the pain drying the Go's mug? the thin ridges for heat dispersion are a major design flaw. Try drying it before packing to check out from where you're staying; it's nearly impossible without a microfiber cloth... so you'd either be packing a wet mug or microfiber cloth; neither is good. They should have put a silicone coating for the heat dissipation instead.

Hey Brian, i think Ive invented a new aeropress brewing method.. I'm calling it the inverted revert. This is when you set up the press in the inverted way but discover after you've added boiling water, that you can't lock on the filter because the brewing chamber is upside down... And you can't dispense because you've plugged it. Yay.
To do a full inverted revert, you have to tip everything out into an additional cup, swilling out sediment as you go while setting things up to the box method. At this point, if any one has seen, explain it is the inverted revert method, an artisan extraction process, with extended brew time.

I work away a lot, if I took our standard aeropress I would return to an empty house. An aeropress go, in my overnight bag? Makes sense to me 🤔

Very interesting comparison. I already have the normal aeropress so won't be buying the go. It does look quite cool tho :)

I'm looking to get my fist press. I have 2 questions.
1 can you use the go on any mug? The base of the originals hexagon design makes it universal. Is that lost.

2 how useful is the funnel? If I buy a go will I miss out on not having one.

Can you make the coffee in the Go a little stronger and add water to it after?

mate here's a bit of advice when making a video - if you're going to show items how about the camera zooms in on the items in question insetad of being 20 feet away where you can't see them, and don't wear a black shirt when holding up black / dark brown items as you can't see them

The biggest downside of the original Aeropress is that it requıires a cup with a wide mouth.

Nice video! Thank you! But I am sorry to say, YOU GOT THIS WRONG! 🙂
The original Aeropress has MORE MAJOR IMPORTANT ADVANTAGES than you described. They outweigh most of the Aeropress Go pros.

The ORIGINAL Aeropress PROS:
1. It's shaped longer and empty inside. That allows to CARRY an elongated GRINDER inside of it. The grinder body fits inside perfectly. Only the grinder handle is stored separately.
When you travel light, what is MORE important to carry - a grinder or an plastic cup? I will say - a grinder!
2. If the grinder is inside the Aeropress, you can fill the grinder with approx. 8 oz/200 gr. of beans! This will be enough to make 4 portions of coffee 2-3 times!
What is MORE important to carry - an 8 oz of coffee beans? Or a plastic cup/mug? I will say - 8 oz of coffee beans!
3. All you need to carry is only the Aeropress + 1 stainless filter + grinder + coffee beans! I am sure you either already have a mug, or you will use one from someone else.

The Aeropress GO PROS:
1. Only the mug could be a pro, but not for me. It's not my favorite design anyway.

I would still choose the ORIGINAL Aeropress any day over the GO. It is much better for business trips, camping, SHTF or any emergencies at home.

I actually dont see the real point with the aeropress go. The normal aerooress is never a problem for me to take with me, and you can have the metalfilter already inserted. In fact, you have room for a small grinder inside the aeropress aswell. In the aeropress go you cannit have a grinder so the "small size" is adding up. I would much rather that they came up with a much larger areopress, the size of an french press so you coukd make say 5 dl up to a liter aeropress coffe at once. That woukd be awesome for breakfasts! That i would be intrested in. I dont feel like the original aeropress is hard to take with me when travel, so i am not gonna buy this
