This might be one of my favorite videos of all times. The contrast between the logical and rational visuals and the sentimental and melancholic lyrics is pure genius. And the kraftwerk - esque sound is the cherry on top. ❤️

As a kid I thought it was a cool video.
Now that I'm a graphics engineer and could actually make this video I really respect it because even today this would be a lot of work, every sequence is wonderfully designed.

Watching this ingenious videoclip for 20 years (!!!) and still is in the top 10 of my favourite videoclips ever. It’s so well thought and well done, so clever, so insanely detailed, so wonderfully coordinated with the song (paradox: the lyrics are completely uncoordinated) that it makes me sad for so much beauty and perfection. Video of the Year at MTV EMAs when that prize still meant something.
