Hi Kassie, I know that it is very unlikely that you will see this. However, I just watched this video with my daughter. I can help you to understand. A person with Schizophrenia typically has a symptom known as Anosognosia. This means that they do not believe that they are sick. For this reason, it is difficult to convince them that it is important for them to continue their medication. Also, whatever their delusions happen to be, they are VERY real to that person. You can NOT convince them otherwise, and it is futile to try. So, in this story, her delusions/halluccinations were: her mom's affair, the friendship with the young man who's bedroom she crawled into, etc. Her parents were not keeping a secret from her. She just would not believe anything they said if it was in opposition to her delusions. Unfortunately, this information comes from personal experience with my step-daughter.

As someone who has lived in mental health facilities my whole life, I can actually see how this is possible. I was admitted at the age of 10 and recently got out this year at the age of 19. I remember last time I hallucinated. It was two weeks ago. When you hallucinate, everything seems so real. I swore there was a bear in the bathroom, and I saw her cubs running in the hallway. I was so terrified that I barricaded my door and cried. The next morning I looked out my room and saw the bear. I was going to call 911 but the phone was to far away. So I approached the bear and realized it was just a towel. So, this being said, mental health really be like this.

For the shortest second when the priest said “go on, my daughter” I thought that maybe she was actually his daughter and the mom had an affair with the priest.

But then...I realized...the priest is called father....and so he called her daughter...I guess it was weird to me because my priest never really does that

i agree with kassie, its extremely rude to make people think bad things about medications because their meant to help people and this is just offensive. medications arent used for this.this is why people dont take pills. because they see things like this and their condition gets worse, luckily im not one of these people, i just thought i should get the message across.
