I first saw this video 10 years ago, and watching it again now, I am still gobsmacked by elegant design and careful attention to detail that Gary puts into every one of his creations. Nowadays, I am proud to call Gary my friend, and he's still living the dream with more fantastic vehicles coming out of his workshop. A true American treasure!

This man is a soaring eagle. He brings tears to my eyes. What a beautiful artist, engineer, person.

The late 30's was the heyday for boat tail cars.Much love to Gary for this most proper interpretation.

The two cars always go out together. Something romantic about that.

Jay Leno is the MAN! He knows and loves vehicles and I love how he supports the industry with his money!

Lol. The song that was playing in the background while jay was driving the car, made it seem like a life-changing moment. xD

Jay leno"s Garage is the best show on Youtube No other show comes close to the amount of content that he puts out with each one of his episodes. Its not just about the cars, its also about the amazing people that are behind the making of these works of art and amazing machinery, and the history of it all, and he grasps each and everyone of those points every time. Great Series Jay, keep up the Great work. I just wanted to let you know all of us enjoy your work and this hobby, thanks for sharing!

The fenders stuck out for me also. I like the open wheel look, it adds a racing feel to the car, I think a bonnet type fender would look a bit classier and blend in better. With the shake in the fenders at speed or on an uneven piece of road you have to wonder how long they can hold their shape before the wind bends them even higher. Love the boat look, as well as the aviation influence in other cars of the age.

Love the enthusiasm of this designer. Top workmanship. I personally love the style, Although not to everyone's tastes (what do they know!!)

The fenders remind me of a boat's wake. At first I didn't know how I felt about them, but when I came to that interpretation, I came to like them.

Two beautiful automobiles. It must be incredibly satisfying to own and drive a car restored by your very own hand. Nice (and appropriate) soundtrack too.

Beautifully done, makes you realize how much thought goes into a modern car, things like not being able to fall out if you hit a bump or swerve a bit, hate to see what happens if you lock the brakes, of course great job

These Rolls Royces remind me of the 17Ex phantom 1 built by Jarvis of Wimbledon and owned by Maharaja of Kashmir, it was an experimental car for Rolls to achieve 100 kmph and then sold to Maharaja Kashmir because it could be driven in mountainous terrain with ease. That Rolls was also known as an extraterrestrial dragonfly.

It looks like a boat in water. The fenders look like the wake and it they just glide beautifully. Really incredible work.

Man I guess I was lucky as I got to get up close in personal with a boat tailed Rolls in the early 90s just starting in auto parts. Trucker buddy of coworker was hauling several high end cars bought by a Japanese businessman who wanted them shipped overseas. He stopped by to visit his old navy buddy and I got invited to check out his cargo. Can’t remember the others like 1 or 2 more but the rollls with boat looking details I’ll never forget. Especially the quality woodwork.
