A patient asked me if I was a goth because I wear all black, I said sir, this is my uniform

Our Cardiopulmonary Dept. is required to wear black scrubs. My patient called me his “Respiratory Ninja!” Best compliment EVER!!

Personally, I love the black. Black means business. And it’s chic…well, as chic as scrubs can get anyway. 😊

I stopped wearing black when an elderly patient thought I was the grim reaper coming for her.

In Australia it's the opposite because the colour of scrubs directly correlates to seniority. Black being consultant/specialist, blue being resident/intern

The only doctor(actually PA) that actually listened and figured out I have Graves’ disease I remember her whole outfit lol. It was black scrubs, Northface fleece and Nike Airmax 270’s. I’ll never forget her cuz she made my quality of life so much better. Made me partial to black scrubs forever❤

For patient comfort and identification, hospitals should have color code for scrubs based on position so patients can identify staff and feel in control of their care.

My mom said that I shouldnt wear black scrubs because I would scare the patients or that the black scrubs could represent death to a few of my patients. Good thing I listened to her.

We wore scrubs in the pharmacy and customers always told us they like the black and red the best. They thought the black made us look clean, organized, and professional 🤷🏻‍♀️

I kinda like black scrubs, but honestly my favorite by far was the scrubs with cute little bunnies pattern my dental surgeon wear (no, he's not a kids dentist, and he's amazing with patients, even those with fear of dentists)

For me you have to be nice and understanding and kind and make me feel heard and understood it doesn’t matter the color of the scrubs just how I’m treated by the person ❤️

It’s also subconscious, because blue represents safety and calmness while black is often associated with darkness and death!

You could jave just asked the Janitor in Scrubs. People were afraid of him when he wore dark grey, but when he switched to blue he lost that power and went back so he could continue his reign of terror.😂

If you’re in the ER, you actually want bright colors because blood gets everywhere. Sometimes PPEs are often disregarded to save someone’s life. You want to see if you’re soaked in blood or not. If you’re wearing black, it’s really not noticeable.

I don't care what my Dr wears, I care about how they act, how they listen, and how they work with me.

It makes sense, colours can really affect your mentality. Blue is a very trusting and calm colour when black is a very dark and twisted colour giving a mistrusting feel to your brain making you trust the doctor less than if they were wearing blue
