Ooo! Alfie just expressed my thoughts about pay increases. Back in the late 60's and early 70's, pay increased dramatically.... almost weekly! Sorry peeps... Its just that im old enough to remember and alsi the pertinent fact that the BBC stopped being an independent news outlet around 2011... By 2015, I realised that their broadcast views were no longer worth my attention.

Great stuff as usual Owen. The decline of the U.K. (and many western nations) reminds me of history and economic books I read about the last 15 years of the USSR. The beliefs and theories we live by don’t work anymore (if they ever did) but no one knows what to do about it or doesn’t have a loud enough voice to be heard.

Always found the idea of a wage price spiral a bit nonsensical. Wages are the same as prices. It just happens to be that 'wage' is the name we give for the price of labour. The reason the wage price spiral argument gets pushed is to create the impression that prices should be allowed to continue to rise and wages shouldn't. Why can't wages rise and prices be kept stagnant instead? It comes down to class war ultimately.

I had the same problem with my cat it was a malfunctioning thyroid, the vet prescribes thyronorm, she's put weight back on and is now doing well

I don’t know if your cat is actually eating or not, but cats will often refuse to eat if they can’t smell the food. Our cat had flu recently and because he couldn’t smell anything, he wouldn’t eat it. He was fine after some antivirals/antibiotics and soon put on weight again. I hope your kitty gets well soon!
