Warming Up with Bryson DeChambeau

Bryson DeChambeau plays golf differently. He thinks about golf differently. And he preps for golf differently. In this episode of Warming Up Bryson explains why he “almost never” plays golf at home, how he calibrates his irons pre-round, why it’s useful to practice with your eyes closed, why he always hits a draw and more. He hits a whiff, a top, a clank and a lot of very high, straight far golf shots — basically he shows off the entire arsenal. We had a blast filming this one, so we hope you like it too!

We filmed this earlier in the season, well before Bryson’s U.S. Open victory, which is why there’s no reference to his win.

The only golfer of my generation that I’ve seen have such a massive positive impact to the game. We are lucky to have this guy in our sport.

Dude said divot warlords 😂 He has become equal parts professional golfer and YouTube golfer. I love it

I bet his answer to "whats your greatest single shot?" question has changed since the 2024 US Open lol

BD is becoming legendary. He’s the only pro golfer doing what’s he’s doing. He’s bridging the popular YT golf and sprinkling that into PGA/LIV and making people watch. Just a genuine dude and allowing people into his world. He’s exactly what we needed for golf. He’s making golf fun to watch.

I am amazed at his mantra adaptation as in "I don't focus on the ball" hitting sequence. He repeats and flows, much like a Buddhist monk to control his consciousness near meditation levels. His breathing sequence and when to strike is another meditative approach. This is like the keys into opening up a door to a "zone" head space. No wonder BD feeds on the crowd's energy in a big tournament. Other pros focus on the ball striking, path, and tempo during play, but do not get the mind in the right frame. Bryson should be commended for his skill set and not be influenced by teaching pros latest fixes. I look forward to his entertaining approach to the game in the future. Moe Norman would be proud of Bryson, RIP.

This was probably one of the best warm up sessions yet! Some good questions not just the most basic possible! And thorough answers!

I love his love of the sport. I’m 77, play every day, can still hit a wedge 120 and a driver 230. BD inspires me to play my best by trying my best. Thanks BD and congrats on 2024 season so far……

I liked this guy when so many hated on him years ago. People are sheep. Now everyone is on his jock. Same dude, just different media coverage tbh.

He doesnt need to practice course play. My man does so many collabs with diff handicaps on courses, its a blast to watch.

I've always liked this guy from day one, even when everyone was so negative towards him. He's the reason I had a set of Cobra one length many years ago. The simple fact he wasn't a robot and did things his way set him aside from everyone else. I think people are starting to appreciate a pro golfer with a personality.

Excellent interview, really relaxed interviewer. Great questions. Good stuff.

Bryson definitely rides that line of batshit insane that like Aaron Rodgers sits on with his darkness retreats and whatnot, but he’s still entertaining and coherent enough that it’s not weird. I’m glad we have him in the sport he makes the game so much easier to understand, even if his personal training tactics are a little crazy 😂
