Honda Accord vs. Toyota Camry | Midsize Sedan Comparison | Which Sedan Is Right for You?

The Honda Accord and Toyota Camry are two of the most popular midsize sedans on the market. Both offer a smooth ride, plenty of interior space, strong fuel economy ratings, and plenty of tech features. So what separates these two cars and which one should you buy? In this video, we answer those questions and more. Ryan ZumMallen from Edmunds provides an in-depth look at these two popular sedans and details what you should know about each. It's Camry vs. Accord in this midsize sedan comparison test.

The 2020 Honda Accord is one of our personal favorites and was named the Edmunds Top Rated Sedan of 2020. On the road, the Accord is quiet, smooth, and just plain fun to drive—that's because it offers a pair of turbo engines and an available manual transmission. The Accord interior has a modern design with quality materials and offers plenty of legroom up front for taller passengers. As far as technology goes, the Accord is equipped with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay smartphone integration, LED lighting, and a wireless phone charger. It also features the Honda Sensing package that includes adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assist, and traffic sign recognition.

There's a reason the Toyota Camry is the best-selling sedan in the U.S. The Camry's smooth ride, roomy interior, and abundance of trunk space are all features we've come to expect from a midsize sedan. New for 2020, Toyota added an all-wheel-drive option that had been absent from the Camry lineup since 1991. The Camry interior is a lesson in functionality and comfort. The controls are perfectly placed and labeled, and there's plenty of space in both the front and rear of the cabin.

The Honda Accord and Toyota Camry are two of the best midsize sedans on the market today. Both sedans offer tremendous value, plenty of room, comfort, and a smooth ride. It's really hard to go wrong with either, but we like the Honda Accord for the improved driving experience and greater cabin space. But which one is for you? We hope to answer that question in this midsize sedan comparison test of the Honda Accord vs. Toyota Camry.

I have both of them in their current generation. The Accord is more fun to drive but its very low seat makes me more tired on longer trip than the Camry. The Camry is louder when accelerating from a complete stop but it is more quiet on highway speed and handle bumpy roads better. I choose to live with the Camry.

I have a 2022 Honda Accord 2.0t.. it’s worth every penny!
My brother has 2012 accord it’s got 255 thousand miles and still pushing with no problem.
Good cars!

The big thing that Toyota has over Honda is the available AWD system. I just recently purchased a 2021 Camry SE with AWD and I couldn’t be happier with it. The AWD makes it feel like I’m driving a bullet

If you merely think of a car as an apparatus to get from point A to point B, the Camry is the better appliance for the job. If you actually enjoy driving and want to be pleasantly engaged while doing so, the Accord is the better car for you.

Camry can feel and look boring but in the world of vehicles that’s not a bad thing at all! I’d take boring but reliable any day!

I owned a 2019 Accord Sport until it was totaled in an accident a few weeks ago. It was mildly irritating from the day I bought it. I thought I would get used to its quirks but never did. The turbo and CVT lag were regular frustrations. The car was LOUD and the ride always felt unsettled. The steering was overly heavy, requiring more work to drive the car. I now own a 2022 Camry SE. I'm much happier with the Camry too! It's quiet! Did I mention that it's quiet? I no longer need to crank up the music to try and drown out road noise. That was a problem with the Accord. The Camry feels much more planted and controlled. I was always a Honda guy until I bought my first Camry. Honda will have to make some major changes to win back my business...improve sound deadening, drop the CVT or at least add simulated shift points in everyday driving, and get rid of the 19" tires...they are unpleasant for everyday driving!

The main thing the Camry has over the Accord is available AWD, albeit only with the 4 cyl. Also, if you prefer naturally aspirated to turbocharged then Camry is the one to go with, and if you prefer conventional automatic to CVT then you can get that on the base Camry, while you have to move up to the Sport model on the Accord.

I prefer the Accord Sport 2.0T. It continues to be the top ranked mid-sized sedan in Car&Driver, Motor Trend, Edmunds, KBB and US News.

Accord looks better and has slightly sportier handling. The Accord has more rear legroom, the Camry has better rear headroom. The Camry has a better ride, is more efficient and for the base engine that most people will pick, the Camry is more powerful. Give me the Accord looks and the Camry ride comfort and powertrain please.

The Camry's interior looks more sporty and stylish with the reds, but I would choose the Accord for spacious cabin and comfortable ride.

I sense bias, both are great cars in my opinion never mention there are no rear ac vents in the accord Camry does or the accord has a more plastic interior

Honda with those turbos...no thanks! I've had my 2020 Camry LE for two years...I couldn't be happier with the rock solid quality...especially of the Dynamic Force 2.5 4 cyl engine. I made the correct choice.

You’re obviously biased favoring the Accord. I saw another video where they took the actual noise levels and the Camry was quieter, except during acceleration

Exactly, I test drove both. i love the power of the accord 2.0, but the seats are too low and hard. I choose the camry xse v6

From the get go, this video was anything but partial. At least pretend to try.

I own neither, but recently test drove the Accord, Insight and the Camry. If I was to buy one, it would be the Camry. Don't get me wrong, the Honda's were nice but for the extra money, the additional features and fluff were not stuff I would need or use. I thought the Camry was a better/smoother ride. As I don't tend to abuse my vehicles or need to show off... why pay more to "feel sporty" as this review wants you to believe?

I have a 2019 Touring and do love it. I generally get better gas mileage than that. Usually around 24-25 in town and 34-35 on a long highway trip.
