What I love about this episode is that a) Collin asked the much-needed, thought-provoking, wide-spanning questions. b) Tim and Kathy are always very thorough in all that they do, including providing their responses in this interview. Thank you all very much for this.

A historical novel that might be new to the Kellers because it was written in Spanish and “Catalán” is “Catedral de Mar”, which I first read in English in a great translation, and the sequel, about the son of the protagonist of the first novel, is “Herederos de la Tierra”, both by Ildefonso Falcones. It’s the medieval story of Barcelona during the 13th and 14th centuries. I have now bought the special hard bound edition of the first book.

The economy's become more unequal? Absolutely not, distribution of wealth has become more unequal; people's ability to afford and purchase items has become stronger. people who spend every waking minute investing money will always have a larger return than those who drink alcohol and play Xbox.

I would never encourage someone to get married. You should only get married when you feel you cannot, not marry this particular person. Marriage requires extraordinary life long commitment it should not be engaged in out of custom, expectation and obligation.

This is an important discussion and I appreciate it! However, with regard to the Me Too moment, it is about bringing attention to rape culture and advocacy for survivors of sexual assault. Let's not vilinnize or disparage women for challenging the feeling of pressure to be silent or protect male perpetrators from due justice. Women are also perpetrators and some perpetrators identify as Christian. I am a Christian. I ask, why Christians often refuse to hold men, including Christian men, accountable for their actions, specifically sexual assault and saxual coercion? Let's not be so quick to blame women or easily talk about casual sex as if it is primarily a women's promiscuity problem. When I hear many of the statements in the discussion, I hear more than due blame placed on women and not nearly enough of a call to change and accountability toward men. God addressed Adam directly, not Eve. That is a model of with whom ro start.
