_"Why does somebody have to be at the bottom/top?"_
Why didn't they let the gay guy answer that question?

Bro I swear it’s like a competition nowadays of who’s the most oppressed. People sure love acting like victims.

As a gay, I don’t feel like I’m at the top at all, I feel respected more definitely by society, but not by the community which I’m no way a part of anymore. I feel my issues are overshadowed by those of the TQ and they feel they are entitled to more, whilst I just wanna live a normal life. I will respect them to an extent, but in no way will I be part of it

These comments were not what I was expecting 💀 I very much agree with the idea that some people are given more of a voice.
Though with in every social group there’s always going to be someone at the top, and someone at the bottom. Unfortunately that is nature, go look at any “pack” of animals. There will be a “leader” (who is the strongest) and the “runt”.
Though with humans it’s not about who’s the strongest that matters, but how they look or act or even there wealth that determines there status.

When people went to "agree", I thought there would be discussion about how trans identity is taking the forefront of the movement, how bi erasure is becoming a thing from within, and how lesbians are often kind of forgotten in the discussions.
But no, it was "white men are taking too much space"…

these people will never stop complaining

That’s cap. People like lesbians more then gay guys. It’s almost expected now that women are at least a little bi, people find it cute or hot, while with gay guys it tends to be considered gross weak or obnoxious.

These people are never satisfied, probably the most privileged people in America and still not happy

I'm the top most victim, victimised within my victim group, nobody has it as bad as me, I need to be listened to more!

Why can't we all be equal? 😂😂😂😂

And also, a lot of people mix up "gay men as a demographic tend to be more privileged in general bc they're men" with "homophobia against gay men is somehow less severe or serious than other forms of discrimination". And it's really telling tbh.

I just feel like it’s a confidence thing 🤷🏾‍♀️ I honestly feel like this question can be looked at in the straight world and have the same answers. If you’re constantly seeking a reason to look for validation, it can be a confidence issue and I can’t lie this group of people don’t give me “very confident”. Idk I can feel their vibes.

Equity presuppposes an innate inequality. Its actually interesting because sometimes it seems like you get more permission to be outspoken with each oppression.

I don't really know, but the constant thought process around oppression might encourage people to ruminate on their issues.

There wasn't a "hierarchy" in the LGBT community until the QIA+ constructed one

Because humans will naturally create a power structure when grouped. Not new info for most of us but some can't seem to understand that
