I have chills. Yet. So calm. Nervous, anxious. But calm.

Imagine scores and scores of people, all terrified after gazing at His face. An unspeakable force, the majesty of which make some lose consciousness from fear, other vomit and pull their hair. Imagine the police and military wailing in fear, throwing their shields and trampling over the people they were just trying to hold back.
Imagine that in this sea of fear your attention is drawn to a few people here in there who can't look away. They stand motionless amidst the chaos, eyes fixed on the absolute terror that has torn away the fabric of our atmosphere.
And yet that isn't what they see. They don't see terror. Where everyone else sees eyes that flash dangerous lightning and hold all the untold truths and horrors of creation, eyes that spread a relentless furnace across the sky, with flames so bright and intense they fear they will be burned alive if they stay, these transfixed unmoving individuals and children see soft eyes. Eyes that glow with a holiness, righteousness, peace, and love so potent that it envelops Him, His host, and the sky in a soft, gentle glow.
And His gentle voice says to them "Come up here to me." And they rise.
But that isn't what the frightened hear, and it isnt what they see.
They see the sky terror open His mouth and a sound that can hardly be described comes out. A shofar, a fog horn, something else. Something dreadful. The Boom of the sound takes not only the breath from from the people running, but seemingly from the earth itself, as the ground violently jerks once and then emits a continuous, steady rumble. Looking up through clouds of dust, they can make out the shadows of those people who had not moved since the onset of the event. And suddenly, they evaporated. Hair, nails, teeth, bones, socks and all. The particles they leave are mixed with the dust of the air, and as that dust settles upon the earth once more, it is all that is left of who they once were, for they do not yet, but yet shall walk with the Father.

I don't typically picture things like that but those words just flowed out of me and I could see every detail. It's scary. It's beautiful.
