2nd hairstyle I also do and yes I agree that is my favourite hairstyle cause that is comfortable but I dont agree with 1st one I think without ponytail only braiding is nice option but u all can follow both

These are not fully protective hairstyles. Protective hairstyles have all the ends hidden, and the hair is tied up and not rubbing against anything. In the first one, pressure is generated at one point, whereas in protective hairstyles, the pressure is every distribution across the head, and the braid is rubbing with the back. In the second one, the ends are left vulnerable.

Actually a bun with a hairtie (especially a hairtie like this) is not protective at all. It does increase split ends and breakage.
