In conclusion, the US is not scared of Russia's S-400 air defense system because it has a number of ways to defeat it.

Per Ukrainian S-400 operators trained in the US on the Patriot system "S-400 is garbage compared to patriot." They have operated both systems, so I will take their word for it.

I mean, the most obvious is that the Israeli Air Force has been operating F-35Is in Syria and Iran, which have S-400 (Syria, operated by Russia) and S-300 (both) systems defending them. So far, the S-400s in Syria have either been turned off by Russia when the IAF enters the battlespace, or have completely failed to get a target lock (eg. the shot a missile but it was unable to follow the F-35). The US domestic variant of the F-35 has access to all of the systems on the F-35I, and so we actually have a good deal of real-world data indicating that the S-400 is wholly incapable of dealing with our most common stealth jet. The F-22 is superior in terms of stealth, but it would be overkill given the history here.

The S-500 has been announced, but it has never been tested, and Russia is notorious for announcing systems that just don't work.
