Floridian here! Just yoinked 2 of those guys who now live in my tree frog enclosure. Saw one on my door and immediately went “that’s not native” and put it in a tub to ID it. They’re now big chillin in their new home that’s NOT where they can eat native species

I have 2 of them as pets. They didn’t ask to be here unfortunately but it is sad they eat native tree frogs

The smaller tree frogs in North Carolina are cute.

As far as being invasive. They aren’t all that problematic. At least here in Florida. They don’t poison anything like cane toads, and can help with the worsening mosquito problem. Also they are kinda adorable and make those peaceful croaking noises at night.

They are so cute. I'm glad they invaded.

A strip of Orajel on the back. When they stop breathing you can put them in a bag or container and freeze them for 72 hours. They clog plumbing, cause electrical issues, and as we see here, they poop up the place.

They have no natural predators, and anything that gets desperate enough to eat them experiences stunted growth. We have No native frogs or toads in our rural area - only Cubans and brown anoles. /sigh

You should spare them but don’t spare the cane toads
