I Have built a 9.1.6 Atmos Studio here in Czech Rebuplic using Focal Trio 6ST and Twin 6ST and Solo 6ST with a focal sub :) Loving the sound :) Great work Focal.

Dang, the 8.5K Grace Design m908 makes the 4K Focusrite Red 16Line look like a bargain. Also, don't do what they did. Always keep your power and audio cable separated and not touching with cable holder clips even when jacketed or in a raceway.

I’m not working in Dolby Atmos yet, but I’m looking to eventually venture into that space. Mostly for video work as of now

I was always told to align the tweeters of all the surround speakers? 🤔

Not mentioning Trinnov in this is definitely leaving people in the dark. I’ll let it slide though because they are probably in-between units for multi-channel

can 1 get more of the satolites used for hights to get 9.1.6 if 1 wants to use these with the new Oria interface? Can these be hooked to an interface?

Atmos is a really cool tech and awesome way to experience audio, but saying it folds down well to other devices that dont accurately reproduce 360 spatial audio (i.e soundbars and binaurals) is something I personally disagree with. The format cannot magically create speakers where there are none, and there lies the issue with Atmos as a format and/or standard. What IS Atmos? Is it a scalable object based encoding/decoding surround speaker system or is it the badge you find on a product with only the encoder/decoder but with otherwise no way to reproduce the experience? I have heard Atmos mixes on all types of systems within the ecosystem and will tell you for a fact there is very little consistency in the experience. This is a serious indictment against its adoption rate.
I hope this can be solved in a way that actually makes sense and is cost accessible to the consumer because its a genuinely cool technology. I just feel that this is more like the Quadraphonic systems of old that were too bulky and expensive to actually make a real impact in the way we all listen and experience music. After all, most of end users just end up listening to music on a small soundbar or bluetooth speaker a room away while doing other tasks. For cinema though, its unbeatable and I can absolutely see it being a long term standard for theaters, be it in home or public.

If they want ATMOS to take off, they better start producing an affordable listening system. ATMOS on little sound bars and headphones ain’t gonna cut it…reality is people are listening in stereo.

Atmos is pointless and just too expensive for anyone

Atmos sounds horrible if you don’t have an expensive system designed for it. I’m older and it makes it really hard to understand anything. Turning things up to hear talking and down for everything else takes the enjoyment of the experience. I don’t like it and I don’t like it being forced on me.

Atmos, THX, DTS 7.1 all a big nope from me.

I think Dolby Atmos is cool but it will never fully replace stereo phonic sound.
