SMITE God Reveal - Athena, Goddess of Wisdom

SMITE is an online battleground between gods that is free-to-play and currently in Beta.

SMITE is similar to DoTA gameplay but instead of being above the action you are IN the action. Close third-person camera instead of RTS view. Move with WASD instead of clicking on a map. Detailed graphics and visual effects. ACTION combat, dodging, and aiming. Everything is a skill-shot. Free-to-Play but not pay-to-win.

you know, im very proud to this game because this game teach us the history of every mythology gods:greece, nordic, aztecs and occidental. im glad they make this game and i dont care these guys of lol who said: "this is a copy of lol" or kayle, tryndamere, others champions who compare to the this game...don´t complain about this game fans of lols, enjoy the games and dont judge them because of it...just have fun and play well with your friends

To be fair, all of her abilities are strikingly similar to Pantheon's. Even the passive is the same. Then she has a gap close (Pantheon's Aegis) a cone damage move (Panth's Heartseeker) and an ultimate in which she channels, then descends from the sky to do an AoE bit of damage. The only unique one is the shield wall.

Awesome to see that lore is back. More depth in a game is always welcome. The game really is starting to balance out as more and more gods are introduced. Great to see.

haven't played this game yet, but listened to Athena's voice pack on youtube and it sounds like crap.
Frankly, they should use the narrator of this video as Athena's voice.

Hey remember when Athena's priestess Medusa was raped by Poseidon and knew it was him but took his side, turn her priestess into a monster and let a hero kill her so she could have a new head on her shield  all the while still blaming and talking crap about the poor girl who was loyal to her to the bitter end?

No she also knew about strategy and such. Remember, when she turned Medusa into a Gorgon, she was really more upset about Medusa breaking the rules "No sex in the temple". Even if it was rape. She didn't care, she ain't the goddess of the heart, people. You have to admit she's badass though. And hot. But don't tell her I said that.

IDK why people compare this to LoL negatively. Smite developers draw a lot of inspiration from LoL. Guess what. Minecraft. MC drew inspiration from dwarf fortress. Rust draws inspiration from Day Z and MC. Smite drew it from LoL, LoL's developers were the developers of DotA (some of, at least), and DotA was originally an RTS game, Warcraft 3... 
Complaining gets you nowhere. All these games have come from one thing at some point in the past... Each game is it's own, and as such, should be treated as if not seen before (Cept CoD games... copy after copy there...).
