Brit here, yes I understand the skipping of inspections can be trouble BUT the same happens to those that DO have inspections!! Point here, is the "inspector" himself--how can ANYBODY be sure of what they say? Why are they so incapable of finding problems? I have to ask whats the point of having "inspectors" that are useless- isn't there some universal qualification required? Why not? Why aren't they liable for the advice (supposed to be professional) or non advice they give or dont give??? Isn't that supposed to be the whole point???

i would suggest anyone looking to buy a home, learn to be a home inspector so you can check everything before you buy because it could cost hundreds but the way houses are being built today, it could save you thousands of dollars. Don't ever buy a house blind, you're just asking to get screwed over and when it comes to the housing market, getting screwed over is common.

Use your own best judgment and do your own research before then and never rely solely on a home inspector alone if you are already using one.

How come they don't use the PVC Blue Boxes in Canada instead of the Metal Boxes ?? The only place in the U.S. where Metal boxes are used is in Commercial and Industrial Wiring ! Very seldom in Residential Wiring !!!

So sad to see the homeowners say the inspector "clearly missed" the big issues. I think they are wrong. I think the inspector IGNORED the big issues.

This was another house that a homeowner could never afford to fix everything. They'd have to fix the essentials and live with the other problems. You could never get a construction loan approved that was substantially more than the house's value as collateral. The asbestos abatement and foundation sealing alone will wipe out most budgets. Luckily this tv show gets a lot of donated services and materials. Giving the homeowner a totally gutted and renovated house and driveway.

Ok……… this is a starter home. The renovation cost clearly outweighs a full demolition and rebuild. This was insane.
