This is such a great explanation! However, it left me wondering how a system with coefficients other than 1, such as (3a+5b)^n, would fit into this method. I didn't write any sort of proof, but it seems it's just a matter of replacing the outer 1s with the leading coefficients, and you can generate another working triangle. Thanks for sharing, definitely going to be saving some time on these sort of calculations now.
