Daniel Cormier is one of the greatest MMA fighters to ever fight in the UFC. Motivated by the untimely death of his infant daughter, Daniel Cormier became a decorated wrestler and olympian and later transitioned that skill set to strikeforce, where he gathered a 12-fight win streak to become the Strikeforce Heavyweight Grand Prix Tournament champion, King of the cage champion, and XMMA heavyweight champion defeating names like Jeff Monson, Antonio Bigfoot SIlva, and Josh Barnett. Cormier then made his UFC debut against Frank Mir, quickly racking up a win streak against Roy NElson, Patrick Cummins, and Dan Henderson to earn title shot to Jon Jones at UFC 182. The rivalry between Jon Jones and Daniel Cormier boiled and grew, but sadly Cormier lost a decision to Jonesa tUFC 182. Cormier bounced back to win the vacant lightheavyweight title against Anthony Johnson at UFC 187 and defended his title against Alexander Gustafsson, Anderson Silva, and Rumble Johnson. However at UFC 214, Cormier would rematch JOn Jones and get knocked out at UFC 214. The fight was ruled a no contest due to Jones' failed drug test and DC went on to defend his light heavyweight title to Volkan Oezdemir. DC then challenged Stipe Miocic at UFC 226 where Cormier knocked out Stipe in round 1 to become the UFC heavyweight champion and simultaneous 2-division champion. DC defended his title against Derrick Lewis at UFC 230 before losing his title to Stipe at UFC 241 and losing to Stipe at UFC 252 in his final MMA fight.
