***This video is for the topic of Infection and Response for GCSE Biology and Combined Science (9-1) - it is written for the AQA specification but overlaps with other exam boards.***

I’ll start with explaining what antibiotics are, giving an example of one, and discussing specificity. Some bacteria have developed antibiotic resistance and this is a topic that is expanded on in Paper 2 in the Resistant Bacteria video -

Then we’ll look at painkillers - these do not kill pathogens, so they don’t actually cure the disease - they simply treat the symptoms of disease.

I’ll also recap why it is difficult to make drugs to destroy viruses.
We’ll finish with some quick questions - here’s your chance to test yourself & see what you’ve learnt! Let me know how you’ve done in the comments below!

I really hope this video helps & that you’ve enjoyed revising with me - let me know if there are any other videos you’d like to see!

WORST VIDEO EVER! Please don't put bad videos like this up as it was destroyed due to lack of a smiley face! The content itself was excellent, but the lack of "smiley" destroyed it.
