One of the great new features of ESXi 8.0 is the new Host Client 2 interface. VMware has revamped the local host client UI included with ESXi 8.0 to include a brand new host client 2 release that has a fresh look and feel to match the vSphere Client included with vCenter Server. It will allow home lab enthusiasts to have basically the same experience as they would running vCenter Server in their environment with ESXi 8.0. Do you know by any chance if the ESXi 8 Free version offers deployment automation with its APIs or is that still a paid feature? I'm getting into Kubernetes and Containers but forced to use Promox for that instead but I love ESXi as I have been using for 2 years now.

I think VMware has dropped support for V2 Xeons so if you try to install ESXi 8 on it will it just pop up message and continue with the installation or will it refuse to install at all? Also you said you're running ESXi nested so I'm assuming you're doing that under VMware Workstation 16, is that correct?

In dealing with ESXi 8 in Vsphere Workstation Pro 17 I am having a problem. I installed ESXi 8 but when I open it I am getting an error: No Operating System Found. In researching this issue I am finding it a very common issue. I would like to see you resolve this issue or find a workaround.

Microsoft in 2022: We should just stop working on Free Hyper-V, let's cut it completely. Also let's make sure not to let users fully manage Hyper-V within SCVMM 2022, let's make sure they still have to use Failover Manager to handle some things, and WAC for others too.
VMWare in 2022: We should make our free hypervisor even more user friendly and compliant to standards, because it will also enhance our enterprise product use. Oh and UX is important.

Though one thing VMWare still hasn't figured out: Shared nothing migrations. If they could fix that, it'd be a no hitter, but Microsoft still owns them on that.

VM Ware licensing is so difficult. And all their naming schemes are horrible. I wish they would make it easier to understand and to license.

Too little, too late. This release is a decade late. To make matters worse, a lot, but I mean an awful lot of hardware is now unsuported. VMWare is now irrelevant for anything but ultra huge corporation.
