No, back in the 2000, s Star adamantly denied Al was gay in a magazine interview. She defended Al to the death! She said there were just nasty rumors because staff at the "View, started to harass her, because she was no longer tge fat, black, token woman on the show. There was resentment because all the attention was on Starr losing weight and getting married.
But Al used Starr to pass for straight and only later on did Starr really realizes that Al was a scrub.
