As the sun starts to stick around for longer it's time we started to head north!

In this little adventure we met up with MartinZero. He took us to South West Manchester where we explored the Abandoned Railway Stations at Cadishead and Partington. Between the two is the impressive piece of railway architecture that is Cadishead Viaduct, spanning the Manchester Shipping Canal.

There is so much history here, and we loved the slightly more Urban nature of this explore. We set out with the goal of finding both Cadishead stations and both Partington Stations. Plus of course the Viaduct.

We are massively grateful to Martin for his time, and will certainly be back again for another 'collab'.

Fantastic! My part of the world. When I left timperley in 1964, this line was still being worked from West timperley/Skelton Junction. Superb memories - thank you

Memories! We lived at 33 Moss Ln in Cadishead between 1980-88. In the early years, there was one track used for goods. Also, there were many occasions I walked the track between our house and Partington, Machester Rd bridge to catch the early morning staff bus and return late at night. I did work driving buses on GM buses at Princess RD, Moss Side. All around there has changed so much.... Great video!

Cadishead, Glazebrook, Partington, CARRINGTON : all those flat fields are deeply rich in bottles, etc.
Theres also a cobbled area, in a wood in front of the works upon a dismantled factory area, which was of clearly railway purposeed construction in the way back.

It's a shame cause the old Manchester Mayfield was extant until just a year or so ago. Don't know if you've attempted to get in there but always wanted to go in there myself. Been to Partington station myself a few years ago. Love it there
