On June 5, King Charles, Queen Camilla and Prince William stepped out in Portsmouth, England for the U.K.’s national commemorative event to mark the 80th anniversary of the D-Day Landings. As the 42-year-old royal met with veterans, one war hero reportedly asked the future king about his wife, asking if she is, “getting any better” to which William responded, “Yes she is. She’d have loved to be here.” The Princess of Wales hasn’t done a public event since 2023, when she joined the royal family for the traditional walk to Christmas mass. Her last high-profile appearance was in March, when she filmed a video from her home in Windsor revealing her cancer diagnosis.
