"In early April 2021, Ziploc bags filled with rocks and Ku Klux Klan flyers were thrown on lawns and dropped on street corners around Huntington Beach, California. “White civil rights!” one flyer read. “OurAncestors settled the land, established the country, made the laws — we’re the majority, why shouldn’t we control our destiny???” Word began to circulate on social media that there would be a “White Lives Matter” rally in front of the Huntington Beach Pier on April 11 at 1 p.m.

Southern California’s Orange County has a century-long history of white supremacism. Klansmen patrolled Anaheim in white hoods and robes during the 1920s; in 1993, a Los Angeles Times headline asked if Huntington Beach was the “skinhead capital of the country.” Today, fewer than 2 percent of its residents identify as Black. But Tory Johnson didn’t care. He started Black Lives Matter Huntington Beach after the murder of George Floyd. He and his fellow protesters were tear-gassed and shot with rubber bullets. He went to jail for marching then, and he wasn’t going to let a racist rally occur in his city unchecked."

As a democrat and a long time viewer of TYT I can def note that whenever there's a topic that makes the left wing look bad or even worse when it's a progressive or progressive movement that is taking heat and it seems legit you get calm, tempered reporting, cautious. There are not the usual jokes, smart remarks or attention grabbing/insulting titles for the videos. It's human nature to go easier on those we like or agree with, this is one of those moments.

So sad, can anyone be fully trusted. Kudos to that reporter for letting the world know, they should be exposed. Thanks TYT for bringing this to us.

Notice how gentle, calm and careful Ana is WHEN she reports on something that is not “right winged” or something that deals with anything on the left as she speaks. Notice how animated and angry she gets otherwise. Surely I’m not the only one that picks up on that

There is a big difference between BLM the movement, and the organization. And right wingers have always said they could support the movement, but not organization. And they have been right on this one!

This just emphasizes why we should be doing reparations by directly investing in black neighborhoods, anti-poverty welfare programs, and accessible (read: inexpensive at the point of service) higher education. That way we would be dealing with the actions of governments that can be held accountable by constituents and voters rather than a private organization with no such accountability on its shady finances.

I was saying this during the high of this "movement", BLM was only picking cases that were overly white vs Black and weren't anywhere to be found when blacks in the inner cities were asking where are you when a little 7-year-old gets shot while playing in her house. My issue has always been the main people in BLM at the top, they were getting rich. One of them brought like a 2M worth of houses while at the same time asking for more money to fight for justice.

This is why I support ideas, not movements. Movements end up getting corrupted by money and desire to get fame. It's truly sad.
