So, how can you contribute effectively to the meeting? We'll look at making good meeting notes, and the 5 S's of an effective meeting contribution.

There are four main ways to make good meeting notes:
- free form
- mind map
- running lists
- In and out notes
And the five S's of an effective meeting contribution are:
- Select
- Structure
- Simplify
- Synthesize
- Summarize
RECOMMENDED EXERCISE
======================
1. Look at the way you take notes. How effective is it? Now think about the kind of meetings you attend and what you need to take away from them? How can you improve your note-taking, using some of the ideas from the video? (2 MC CPD Points)
2. Take your plan for better meeting notes out for a spin. Try it at your next meeting and then reflect on what you have learned and modify your approach next time, if you need to (2 MC CPD Points)
3. At the next three meetings you attend, consciously use the five S's to plan and make an effective contribution to those meetings. (3x2 MC CPD Points)
