I remember hearing Bill Thomson on a 4-manual Wurlitzer theatre pipe organ with a grand piano attachment. He was the finest theatre organist I'd ever heard and he even played Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata using the organ as an orchestra while he played the piano part all at the same time. He got some great sounds from the E45 (I've had 2 of those) and it can produce some great theatre pipe organ sounds too.

Spectacular musician. A real pleasure to listen to. But that thin, tinny sounding Yamaha is painful to listen to for more than a minute.

When organists were the Kings, now keyboards do it all without any ART

I had the D 85. It's similar like this model...just fewer keys, but a 3. Manual.
Great organ 😃

Looks like the D65 model that my Dad had. Happy memories.

Oh what memories this one brings back. Lets go to Eatons in Pasadena tonight to hear the greatest organ genius around. And the first one has to be the Gladys P Muhlbach Boogie. Closing with Rhapsody in Blue wasn't bad, but nothing could beat Closing Time at Eaton's which was Slaughter on 10th Avenue like you have never heard it before or will ever hear it again. Why didn't you record this one Bill?

Thanks for sharing this. I was blessed to meet Bill Thompson when I was working in sales for a Yamaha Electone Dealer. He came and did an amazing concert on the Yamaha EX-1 for us.

Listen to the track at 17m50 at 1.5 playback speed and you get a piece of 90's lo-fi electronica, of 1977 vintage.

Wrong pic. He played the Yamaha E-70. That’s the 7000, from the early 80s.

Sounds more like an E70 than an E45 to me.

17:50 *What Are You Doing For The Rest Of Your Life* , great rendition. Also check out *George Wright at Home. Conn 651 organ* version, 2nd song iirc. On Youtube.
