Australian politics shaken up by nationalists

The Nationalist Party wants to slash immigration and introduce restrictions on Muslims.

Their policies are already influencing more mainstream parties across the country.

Western Australia State Election has gone to the Australian Labor Party, One Nation got wiped out (only 7%), Liberal National Parties (conservatives) put out of government. Your reporters does not understand Australian politics or the issues or the campaigns. Try to understand why compulsory voting works; and the circumstances and rules of a double dissolution election, that originally got One Nation a few senate seats federally. In a normal election One Nation would not get a seat. Also there is no chance that they would ever win government, ever. Compulsory voting is the way to a true responsible democracy, we the people (all of us) are responsible for the government, they will stand or fall by our collective will.
