Another cheap & easy mod, just the way I like them! These OEM pivot bushings are the cause to your sloppy shifter feel. The upgraded bushings (in this video are made by Torque Solutions) are the cure to that sloppy shifter. Great mod!

I think I'm just gonna do this if it's that cheap. I went with the torque solutions u joint. But when I tried to install it, my punch was a mile away from the pin and I couldn't figure a wrench or a socket on the nut and bolt. Upon inspection, it didn't seem as loose as people's in vids. I could barely move it. I popped my knob and boot off, held the two separate parts, and felt significant play in this joint.

I've finally decided to change mine, no joke when the cars in first I can move the shifter into the position to get reverse without taking the car out of gear there's that much play. It's wild. Going to be a whole new car when I replace them. Thanks for letting me know what they're actually called. 0

You should get the silver Sti shift boot trim. Kind of a pain in the ass to install but well worth it. It really brings the center console together imo

That's so funny, I was just thinking about how to deal with the sloppy shifter.. What is weird is that my short shifter came with plastic bushings... Guess it's time to upgrade!!
