First debuted at CCXP, this deleted scene from The Sandman episode 6 "The Sound of Her Wings" gives us a little more insight into why Death (Kirby Howell-Baptiste) is the way she is, as she explains her journey pretending to be a human to her brother Dream (Tom Sturridge). The Sandman is now streaming on Netflix, with more stories currently in the works to tell the tales of the Endless.

I'd absolutely love if every character had two season. I absolutely love Kirby Howell-Baptiste's performance and i'd love to see her adventures and ties to her world. A lot of her character has to do with whats unseen, and i appreciate that, but heck i'd love to see a series showcasing Kirby's range after her amazing performance in the series!

There's something about Kirby Howell-Baptiste's performance, the nuances in her expressions and inflections that make her... different from the comics' version. Not better, not worse, just... a different Death.

And then I realized it's because, unlike the comics, this Death embodies all three phases of Eve, the maiden, the mother, and the crone, birth, life, and death.

She is neither, she is all at once.

We love her, we despise her, we fear her, and we hope for her.
