In this episode, Jeff gives a close look at Blum vs Salice Drawer slides. In my opinion, it’s pretty easy to tell which slides I’ll use on my next project. Let us know what you think.

Those are amazing slides. Lots of adjustment. Thanks for sharing. Where is the best place to get them?

will try those in my next project, Salice are very sturdy sleds, + the fact that those are synchronized is a great plus compared to blum.
looking forward for an installation video :)

I switched from Hettich because they quit making the model I used to use. I like these so far. I see you have the Hafele adjustable cabinet feet. The genius of those are the breakoff nipple that maintains the set height until install, then it breaks off when you level the cabinet at final install. I like these, especially with the snap clips for toe kick. I think those are brilliant. You might want to do a video on those.

I’ve installed a few sets of these and they are well made. The in and out adjustment is nice to have when doing inset drawers. I could tell by the sound that bottom drawer was Blum. They sound like something is dragging or scraping. These are my go to for sure. I would still like to see an in depth video as to see your process. Thank you ❤

Terrific overview, thanks. I'm on board! I picked up a half-dozen slides a few days ago, and this will be my go-to from now on. And thanks for all of your other great videos. Cheers.

Yes! Could you please create the in-depth video you mentioned on drawer sizing and a detailed guide on installing the The Progressa drawer runners?

Yes, give us a more detailed video on the draw construction and sizing.
Thanks for a great introduction to Salice draw slides.

a video on sizing the drawers would be amazing. that is my biggest issue when using undermount slides.

Great info. I could tell the Blums just by hearing that slop and click noise. Ill have to try the salice runners. I typically use Pride (Chinese Blum clones) because of their 6 way adjustment, and because they're about half the price of Blums, but they're not highest quality slides.

we just started using progressas on our first project so far we are undecided on if we will continue with them, our findings so far:
1. The locking devices being so much further inward towards the center of the drawer makes it quite hard to grab them with both hands at the same time (especially with small hands) to disengage them.
2. When trying to disengage the locking devices it is hard to pull the drawer out when you squeeze both locks at the same time, when the devices disengage from the drawer finally it feels like you are going to break it to take it out, unless there is some hack we don't know about.
3. They seem a bit more unforgiving - some we did do go in and out smoothly, while others seem harder to pull out and when pushing in seem to have more resistance so you have to give it a more deliberate 'push'.
4. Noise -overall they seem ok, most of what we installed had these weird sounds going in and out, like metal trying to find its space, hard to explain. we are using 5/8 sides and subtracting 3/8 from the inside cabinet width.

Can an existing Blum drawer slide set be replaced with the Salice without extensive modifications to the drawer or cabinet face? Obviously there has to be a 2 inch slot but that’s easy to do.

Could you provide a possible source to buy these slides from? I did a quick search and it was unclear where to purchase? Maybe a link? Thanks for all the great information and content!

They look amazing, durability would be the only question.

I used these for the first time on a couple of vanities I built for my own bathroom. I designed the vanities with inset drawers and doors, and in the past with Blum slides, I've experienced a lot of 'drop' on the front of my drawers after attaching the drawer front and removing the spacers. While I did experience a bit of the same 'drop' with the Salices, it was perhaps 1/2 mm vs 1 or 2 mm with the Blum. I think this might be due to the rack and pinion system as well (just a guess).

I'll finish out using my stock of Blum slides for non-inset drawers I guess, and then only ever buy the Salice. I bought mine from Woodworker express online. Very fast shipping and reasonable pricing!
