Shri Rudram, an ancient Vedic Hymn by Music for Deep Meditation, Vidura Barrios

Shri Rudram is an ancient Vedic text and part of the Krishna Yajurveda. It is a powerful hymn in praise of Rudra, or Shiva. In the mystical tradition, Shiva represents the consciousness within everything, the pure essence within all, referred to in the Hindu scriptures as Sat Chit Ananda: truth, consciousness and bliss. It is in Shri Rudram that the great five syllable mantra, Om Namah Shivaya is first mentioned.

You might simply listen to the chant during meditation or you could chant along. The vibrations of the chant purify the atmosphere and mind, fill your being with peace and vigor, bestow protection, and coupled with a pure intention, have the power to grant your wishes, including liberation.

This album is a labor of love and 100% of the proceeds are being donated to a worthy charitable cause. May the practice of chanting the Shri Rudram bring you countless blessings.

At 20:50, the "Rudra Chamakam" begins. A very powerful incantation. This "Chamakam"-part of the "Sri Rudra" chant is composed of 11 so-called "anuvakas" (verses). Every verse has different specific aspects and depending on where in your natal chart Saturn is positioned, a different anuvaka might be best in order to protect you against the negative aspects of Saturn. The 3rd anuvaka though is a "one-fits-all" and often prescribed by Brahmin priests and Jyôtish astrologers for general use. Here, it starts at minute 22:50 (until minute 23:42). It is said to give the energy and courage to overcome all obstacles, and to protect one from the sufferings caused by Saturn. If you manage to recite it 11 times in a row, daily, for 40 days in a row, at the same time of day, it has the ability to literally change your life. I experienced this first-handedly this year. As a consequence, I recite it every day since early March 2020 upon awakening. It is truly transformative. As Neem Karoli Baba said: "Ram nam karne se sab pura ho jata.” (Everything is accomplished/revealed by repeating the holy names; he was talking of the god Ram, but it holds true for all 'revealed' names).

Brazil here. We are in the Kali Yuga (also called The Iron Age or The Addiction Age) it is fundamental to hear Stotrams, and also Vedanta. Our minds need to hear these verses as our body needs purified water.

The vibration of this chant correlates to my harmonic energetic self. We Slavs originate from the eastern traditions before Christianity came to be. Greetings from Poland.

Sanskrit is our mother tongue. All languages can be traced back to this powerful language. I have taught the Sanskrit alphabet as a therapy. It also prevents dementia and all brain related issues. This includes mood disorders like depression anxiety memory loss, etc. The recitation of the Sanskrit alphabet creates and fortifies healthy channels in the brain.

M so proud to belong to that land, which produced this work, that too for about 3000 years ago. Only if people knew their culture very well n used it to advance love peace and harmony, world would be heaven. Rudra manifests himself in various forms, where there is love. Om namah shivaay.

I would like to add that I'm physically unable to get to my bedroom (spinal diseases have me in hospital bed). I wanted SO much to listen to my SRI RUDRAM CD recorded by Brahmin Priest Vivek Bol but cannot get into my room to get the CD.
I'm SO grateful to find this version on Youtube. It's the intention that counts... and while some words are mispronounced... the essence of the chant comes through 100%.
This chant removes obstacles and renews the spirit.
This version succeeds in both counts.
My Heart is dancing with joy!

As I listen to these divine chants I imagine the ancient rishis reciting the same words thousands of years ago in the dense forests and mountains of Bharat. Who were those selfless souls who left so much for mankind!

Hinduism to me is easy to understand as I come from catholic background and we believe in many saints and ask for help for different problems and intercessions and assistance but there is one God, however God cannot be explained and seen with the naked eye but felt with the heart. I respect this philosophy and just like there are many beautiful flowers God has many different qualities and is in everything and there are many ways to worship. Everyone is on their own spiritual journey. Namaste

I've never considered my self a religious or "spiritual" person, but when I listened to this, it gave me an eerie feeling of calm and peacefulness even though I have no idea what the words mean

What a blessing this chant is to the world. Rudra is the creator, sustainer, destroyer, and bestower of Grace in this world. Notice what happens we get out our head and EXPERIENCE THE CHANT. This chant has saved my life repeatedly. It dissolves calamities, afflictions, and all sorts of challenges. Thank you for this chant.

Hats off to the singer of this Hymn. You can really feel the sincere effort which he has put while chanting this. Commendable pronunciation by a non-native speaker. Perfect tone. Great effort ! Purely meditative !
