Its a nice looking bit of kit but its soooo big. I use Australian bottles ( same as US ) a stailess cups canteen for cooking. And an alloy stove that fits over the cup. Trania fits underneath it perfect cooking height.
I do have an osprey pouch, bottle Mk1 cup and plastic drinking cup. I use both on the lil US stove that fits on the nato stainless cup or will also fit over a french alloy cup.
I have an old hexi with the top holder for the MK1 cup. A tip there is you can use those Redhead fire starter silver foil wrapped blocks in place of a hexi tab too

My better half bought me the set a couple of years ago as a present (after some next-level hinting). I use it with a TBS trangia and it's worked great in all sorts of conditions. The water bottle stank for a while but has settled fine. Good kit, really well made

I made a poorly made lid like that. Out of a bit of stainless the knobs went through from an old bbq. Penned the edges over with a tack hammer. To flimsy as I carry it for a NATO bottle in similar to a US 1 quart bottle and cover. It bent. I since repurposed an old alluminum sign. About 5mm thick no handle its set on flick off lol

The Mark 2 stove stand is very useful for the Trangia. The Mark 2 canteen cup is crap in my opinion, the bottom is not flat, so while cooking there is always food left in the small space between the bottom and the walls of the cup, makes cleaning difficult. The Mark 2 stove stand and the Mark 1 canteen cup are a very useful mix! The good thing though with the Mark 2 canteen cup is that you can fill in the content of a 800ml food tin (in Germany we use 400 and 800ml food tins) in full. Also, the Pathfinder steel canteen fits in the Mark 2 canteen cup perfectly. The Mark 2 stove stand/cooker fits onto both the Pathfinder steel canteen and the Keith canteen upside down. That allows you to store the whole set also in a Helikon Tex canteen pouch/kit bag.

I had some old rations to throw away. Beef stock mushrooms soup coffee tea powder, that sort of stuff put it in my crusader mk2 with hot water todissolve and throw in garden some time later . Forgot . Throw it away to discover the bottom inside of cup had been eaten away showing aluminium and corrosion!!! Shit it had eaten the ally I stabilised it, oils it on heat .can not believe it wonder why .. good cooker though but I fave my old USA mug made for Europe army Belgium or something 1964 new 50p 30 years ago it’s comfortable I drank tea nearly always in it at home 😊

Tried this and found not as bomb proof as the crusader mk1. Very easy to bend. The mug with the plastic rim was the rolls Royce, everyone wanted those. I think 1980s survival aids sold them
