This is definitely the best Smartphone camera this year. Its a shame that big techtubers like MKBHD just fly over this thing, as it is very very noticeable that he didn't even test these properly. I know that to be a fact because of other tech tubers actually engaging with other brands like Oppo, Vivo and OnePlus and they not only talk about improvements, no they also show it to us. The iPhone camera has been suepassed for the last 2 years now yet people like MKBHD seem to like the easy to usability more than the camera power itself which is so weird. Or he claims video is the best on iPhone, while that is also not really true anymore as other phones also support a RAW video recording and outperform the iphones in many regards of video as well. Thankfully we have techtuberslike this guy, who don't just take photos of his bureau to "compare" quality..

Vivo x200 pro being compared from this insanely good yet expensive professional cameras in terms of cam tech, shows you how beastly the Vivo x200 pro is!

Thank you for such a detailed video. I have been using this phone for more than a week now and I don't understand why more mainstream tech youtubers are not covering this device. This is one of the greatest devices that have ever used. Period.

A thing to remember* Vivo can also shoot RAW so if you want more flexibility and to edit to your preferences you can do that. Maybe its not a perfect 1:1 in raw but its there. and tbh with how small and compact this phone is vs carrying a camera with multiple lenses i feel you can easily use this for professional work. Especially considering how much faster and easier it is to get the shot when your phone is nearly always with you and you can edit right on mobile

I have ordered it and I have been using till now the Vivo X50 and X80 top models for my professional shoots. I am happy and my customers are very happy to be captured in these phones over the professional DSLR cameras. I use them solely as cameras and not as mobile phones for daily use. Apple phones are only status symbols. All hail Vivo!

You do know that photos taken with "pro" cameras by professional photographers are mostly shot in RAW format, right? So, if you are comparing your smartphone camera with a pro camera's jpeg output, you are not using the "pro" part in your pro camera. Pros mostly shoot RAW and sometimes JPEG as backups. Plus, the Sony A7 series cameras are not "DSLRs" as you called your camera because these cameras don't have the reflex mirrors of DSLRs. They are more properly called mirrorless cameras.

Not taking anything away from the Vivo (and I think it also shoots in RAW format), but you either are ignorant about how to use a "pro" camera in a "pro" manner or just misleading your viewers. Currently, there is no smartphone camera that can match the capabilities and features of a bonafide professional camera. Of course, modern smartphones are quite handy, are impressive in what they can do, have some interesting features and are perfectly suitable for the casual user. And even professional photographers carry a good quality smartphone for various purposes related to photography.

Would I buy the Vivo? Yes, I would, but I wouldn't compare it to a pro DSLR or a mirrorless camera in 2025.

Vivo achieved something unique and genuine, who ever is buying this phone i don't think is buying it because of its overall performance as a phone but because of the camera mostly, because many of us we have an amateur photographer inside us or the desire to go out and capture unique moments with the closest and less skill required tool before dslr camera...the trust and the connection between the client and the company when it's come to mobile photography, congrats to them and I'm wishing other manufacturers to learn something from vivio, AI is noce, other gimmicks are nice, but we want better lenses, better calibration and more passion to unlock our hidden photographer inside us!!
Great video as always Tom!❤

I love how "influencers" show you examples of smartphones vs Camera of a statue in a museum in perfect light :)))) ... these are influencers, and you should know that they are overseling these things. I use both a VIVO x100Pro and a dedicated Canon R8 for street photography, and in most of the situations the camera is vastly superior. Phones are amazing in some situations, but they always fall apart as soon as you start doing proper photography.

Bro the vivox200 is an absolute banger. Please compare it to the s24u and iPhone 16pm in separate videos. Also I want to see how the selfie camera holds up.

Thanks for the review! I as the owner of this smartphone I want to advise from myself - try to use the pro mode using Super RAW photo in high resolution. Of course, if you use such a scenario, you can't shoot dynamics (probably because from my experience with low light always have to wait for a few seconds), but I noticed that it is in it you can achieve maximum naturalness and maximum detail, just set as low as possible ISO, and RAW photos can be processed very well.

I would love to see its video capabilities go up against the fx3, and a comparison between the vivo's and the iPhone 's LOG modes

Good job with the comparison, but i think it make more sense to comoare the vivo with less professional equipment ( or at least cheaper lenses like 70-300)

This is the closest a phone camera has come to a professional camera. Can you please compare it with the Honor Magic 7 Pro? I think that phone has the second-best camera among this year's Chinese phones.

Thank you for the video, Tom. I hope you will make 1 video comparison between Professional Camera with Vivo X200 Pro, Samsung S24 Ultra and Iphone 16 ProMax.

Phone cameras cannot go even close to a professional camera. For instance, Phones are completely garbage in studio work. They are useless with multiple strobes. Another one is during fast phasing moments, the use and easy quick fast change of manual settings by using the professional switch layout of pro cameras can never miss a shot, seconds matter a lot and phones can't and will never match that. And i don't particulary like the bokeh effect/and high contrast of the phone output. It's weird looking. They can trick the eyes of the normal person, but not a professional photographer.

Watching on my Vivo x200 pro😍
Camera Monster🔥🙌
Specially telephoto performance is Next level😇 Best in the market right now.
Though S23 ultra is primary phone❤️

This is genuinely insane. How a much more affordable phone with such a compact form factor can go toe to toe (and sometimes even beat) huge professional grade ultra expensive cameras. Photography has never been so accessible.
