This is my endgame personal meta. When I get to Prapor lvl 4 I always try to use ASh-12 with Valday attached. The reason is - if it hits you - you're dead in 90% situations. 10% on it blackens your part, so you're out of combat for sure.

I was running the Ash-12 today on customs, looking for reshala and his golden TT, it was so much fun! Got myself eventually 5 PMC kills and extracted on the vehicle extract, it shoots straight logs to your enemies, and disintegrates everything, the only downside for me is the bullet speed and not having even bigger mags, one of my favorites for sure!

I've always thought it was funny that Prapor pretty much starts off just handing you obsolete and nearly worthless gear, some of which are leftovers from WW2 that were languishing in some back storage, and eventually says "fuck it I like this guy here's some cutting-edge special forces weapon that only a handful of elite units even have access to, and also me, a random-ass crooked warrant officer"

The silencer is a message in its own right. Getting hit by an Ash-12 round out of audio range is terrifying. Like getting punched by batman.

What's totally genius about this gun is it has special massive Aluminum bullets. Which I have never heard of before in other firearms. The idea is they are large and massive enough and suppress very quiet. However Aluminum is very soft and opens up easily too, so penetration is very limited they won't go through multiple walls, but against soft tissue it just explodes like a small grenade. Designed to work inside urban environments like in Moscow where most people live in apartment building to minimize collateral damage. In high risk SWAT or counter terrorism style police raids.

In-fact stealth is a major point of the Ash12 irl, to properly suppress a firearm you need to keep the bullets subsonic. So it doesn't matter if it's a 55 grain or a 1, 055 grain the bullets will have to travel the same max speed to stay under the sound barrier, so larger heavier subsonic bullets tend to be much more effective subsonic since you can't increase velocity, the only way to increase energy of the projectile impact is through increased mass. So IRL the entire point of this firearm was to be used suppressed.
