Another recording that anticipates the swinging style of the Capitol years is "When You're Smiling" which was made famous by Louis Armstrong, The track, which was recorded in New York on April 24, 1950, was arranged and conducted by George Siravo and issued as a 78 rpm disc on Columbia as part of the 4 record album set Sing And Dance With Frank Sinatra, which is available on CD on Legacy. It can also be found on the Columbia CD box sets, The Best of the Columbia Years, 1943-1952 and The Columbia Years, 1943-1952, The Complete Recordings. Sinatra was to record it again on August 22, 1960 with Nelson Riddle for the Sinatra's Swingin' Session!!! LP on Capitol. The tenor solo is by Jerry Jerome.
