Fantastic to watch this again. We had an amazing music teacher Mr Fisher who organised a bus trip down from N Wales to watch this. No amount of rain could dampen our spirits that night…the first ‘live’ concert I ever went to and possibly still the best 34 years later! 🎇 🎶 ♥️

I was 16. I saved my pocket money for months and got an organised coach ticket, concert included, there and back. I got soaked but and all these years later it is one of the best nights of my life.

Remember it watching at BBC in the Netherlands, taped it on VHS and watched it over and over. I was 12 yrs old at the time! Love the voice from Mireille Pombo (Laura Mayne) in the September song!

I stayed up late to record this from the tv when I was a kid. Couldn't tell you how many times I watched it. Fantastique!!

"This is not wet, this is England." The line of Hank Marvin that stuck to my mind back then.

I remember being at this concert - in the persistant rain, getting drenched, and the difficulty in getting to the gig as the Docklands was then pretty much just abandoned and derelict, but what a great experience to be there!! Several years later (circa 2010-2011) I was a VIP driver in London and was lucky enough to pick Jean Michel Jarre up from the ITN building on Grays Inn Rd, and whizz him up to St Pancras Stn for his train back to Paris. Had a quick chat with him and told him I was at the docklands concert and loved it.

Thank you for not screwing up the aspect ratio like many others

I was here! This concert was a surprise 17th birthday present from my aunt and uncle who also loved JMJ, I didn't know I was going until the Sunday morning. I still have memories of the warehouse windows on fire and the industrial projections burnt into my brain.
This is the first time I've seen this video and I have just been transported back to that wet October night. Wonderful!

Respect to him for going ahead with it in that awful weather. (and for the fans for showing up!)

Me and my pal were 12 and we walked from Plaistow to custom house and the music was so loud, in fact you could hear it from in my front room, what a great night, people were even standing on the footbridge.

Very sad news. Dominique Perrier passed away. He was an amazing musician.

I've always remembered the line "It's a bit wet tonight". Wonderful concert!

Thanks for doing this. I still have the original VHS tape, just for posterity's sake. I'm 61 and live in Canada now, I was 25 when I went to see this. Thankfully, on the Saturday night, when it didn't rain. This was filmed on the Sunday. The original date got screwed up because of safety issues regarding access and egress in the Docklands area. London Fire Brigade where concerned with the amount of people being crammed into a relatively small area at the same time, so they did it over two nights. Unfortunately, this moved it to later in the year and the risk of wet and cold weather. Didn't dampen British spirits though, we're used to it.

Never forgotten this masterpiece on Ambulance Duty living 3 days in an ambulance and when the large pyrotechnics went off a lady went into labour. I wonder how mother and baby are doing all these years later?.

I have the vinyl, vhs and cd. I have everything from Jean-Michel Jarre. Everything. I'm crazy for his music.

I was at the Sunday evening (drier of the two nights!) show and it was superb.
This was in Oct 88. It had to be Oct as JMJ had had probs getting permission from Newham council to stage this through the summer. By the time permission was granted it was late in the year but massive credit to JM he went ahead with it and treated us all to something very special.
Great night
