Faithful

And let us not be weary in well doing:
for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.
Galatians 6:9

Faithful: it's not a trait one can just claim
Or quickly prove and this title obtain.
It's not choosing to quit or serve half way,
But doing what's right every single day.
That is being faithful

As you look back and see how far you've come,
Though oft' weary you continue to run.
Steadfastly you've been obeying God's call
And when others quit you got through it all.
So far you've been faithful

By many steadfast Christians you've been led
You follow them as you go on ahead.
A consistent life these ones have displayed
And from what's true and right they have not strayed.
And they've been faithful

When trials came and you were filled with care,
And life's many burdens seemed hard to bear,
When you didn't know how you would get through,
You could trust that God would never leave you.
'Cause God has been faithful

Life is a journey you haven't yet been through
And you'll face things you ne'er thought you could do.
Stay true to your God, family, and friends.
Stay true right now and until your life ends.
And choose to be faithful

When life's done and you stand before God's throne
The works you've done in life will be made known.
When all your service in this world is through
And you're done here, will God say about you?
Well done you were faithful

Not long after I became a Christian I woke up one night and wrote this poem down.

We're called by God to walk by faith,
to trust in him, in his saving grace.
We can't go wrong if we abide in the vine,
because the vine is Christ Jesus, and he is devine.

We're called by God to reach all the lost,
to share our lord Jesus, reguardless of cost.
Our treasures in heaven, where it won't rust,
for the worlds passing away, returning to dust.

If we persist in doing whats right,
in preaching the gospel to all those in sight,
if we don't fall but fight to the end,
he'll give us a crown and life that won't end.

But just knowing the lord is enough in itself,
for without him in our hearts, we don't have any wealth.
Without him we're nothing but small grains of sand,
so stay under the covering of Gods mighty hand.
