“Youngest Daughter” by Superheaven, from the album ‘Jar’ out now via Run For Cover Records

Lyrics:
It's useless. I tried but to no avail,
To tell you how much I know. How much I care.
Come home.

Breathe until your lungs fail.
You can sing till you go deaf.
Everyday that you don't call her,
I can feel it. You're coming down.

I am sick.
I am horrified at everything I hear.
The youngest daughter lost her way.
Everyday repeats itself again.
The cycle of our misery, it drives us all insane.
Please come home.

The poison takes away from us
Now you're sick to death from all the drugs.

Breathe until your lungs fail.
You can sing till you go deaf.
Everyday that you don't call her,
I can feel it. You're coming down.

we desperately need this genre back. grungy rock is so underrated and carries so much nostalgia

This the type of music that played early morning 6AM on MTV. Sitting on my couch, putting on my shoes, waiting for the school bus. This type of grunge just hits different.

I’ve heard other bands try to emulate the sound of the late 90s and early 2000s, but this literally sounds like something right out of it 1999, and I love it

I'm 38 and I am blown away. This captures my teen years so well. Crazy.

Did a meme bring a band back together? I hope so, the world needs more rock like this back, it reminds me of grunge rock from the 90s or even heavy rock from the 00s. It sounds amazing.

This album deserves so much love. Bring back this early 2000’s sound immediately at all costs.

Dear Superheaven...

I'm 36 years old, I lost my older sister to drugs a few years back. She was just 33. I thought the song sounded great, and THEN I read the lyrics. Man this hits me. Thank you for making a great track.

Heard this on IG, immediately came here to enjoy that early 2000’s nostalgia. Bring back this kind of vibe

This song really encapsulates that early 2000's post-rock feeling. Staind, Deftones, Chevelle, Breaking Benjamin etc.

I'm a 48 year old father of 1 and I miss her. She never calls anymore and rarely responds to texts. Always so busy with work and lives 10 hours away. I miss you Amber. Daddy loves you.

If you want to hear more of this, PLEASE buy their records and stream their music. Blow up their socials so that their label realizes there is a market for them. It will push them to help out the band! YOU CAN HELP BRING BACK GRUNGE. This band is the start of a new era. HELL YEAH

Literally sounds like it’s 2000 and I’m riding in my dads car. They captured the vibe perfectly

My youngest daughter showed me this song. It makes me think of my 36 year old sister in-law April who has been missing for over 3 years.

This the type of song in the background of a motocross atv game from the late 2000s. Awesome track!

The guitar sounds so heavy, it’s amazing. I love a nice heavy riff that vibes with the soul

I had never heard this before, then after my daughter died my son showed me and I can’t stop listening. It’s so painfully true..
