You can also take advantage of the splatfest tee whenever you have it. Scrubbing the splatfest tee only costs 2k gold, so you can keep scrubbing the shirt with only the first slot filled. Combine this with an ability drink, you'll be able to get 1 chunk for every 1 win, or 1 chunk every 2 games regardless of result.

I'm glad Salmon Run exists just because you can get 200+ ability chunks

Remember guys when it comes to leveling up anything (includijg catalog), Turf War > Anarchy Battles, but only if you don't feel confident in winning whatever game mode is available. On average turf war gives more xp cause you can lose and still get xp, on anarchy you have to win but you get a bigger win bonus compared to winning in turf war.

I can't believe nobody else is talking about that giga-brain play from that Cohock hiding inside Cohozuna and attacking while you were focused on dodging Cohozuna's attack

I play Salmon Run very often, probably more than the other modes, so all the ability chunks you get for just playing it really helps out whenever I wanna make a gear build quick and easy

For salmon run I always stop at 4000 points cause after you reach 4000p, the gap between rewards gets larger. I love salmon run but I don't need to spend hours & hours on getting as much rewards as possible. 4000 points is enough for me

2:54 The cohock that emerges from Cohozuna and then gloats after killing you is pretty hilarious.

Here’s a gear farming technique that most people don’t know about. It might seem counter-intuitive, but it works!

When farming a specific ability on gear through turf/series, it’s actually *more profitable* to use the drink that targets the gear brand’s *unfavored* ability!

Think of it this way: gear can roll 1 of three abilities:

1: the favored ability
2: the unfavored ability
3: any other ability

Essentially, if you run a drink that matches the ability that the gear favors, you’re only getting around a 7%~ boost to the existing odds, which isn’t great since you still have better odds of rolling other abilities.

What you SHOULD do is find the brand that disfavors the ability that you’re searching for. This essentially gives you a 33%~ chance for rolling any of the three options.

For example: if you want to farm quick respawn, run ZINK gear with a quick respawn drink!

Until there is an alternative way to obtain sea snails outside of splatfest, Sea snails should *ONLY* be used for leveling up amiibo and hero mode gear to 2 stars (and only 2 stars). I would not bother using them for rerolling gear.

Also once you have 100% the hero mode, you can use the drone to obtain chunks, don't expect it to give any chunks regularly though. There's a slim chance of obtaining chunks, the drone mostly just gives you locker decs. But over time you'll get ability chunks out of the drone. You're still going to want to play salmon run to grind for chunks, think of the hero mode drone as passive income.

And if you love Salmon Run (like me), then you just get chunks as a huge side benefit. I’ve got 190+ chunks for every ability (with some already close to 250).

I do play every rotation but I don’t grind the hell out of it. If I HATE the weapon option a I’ll at the very least play to get the super bonuses and one King Salmon fight.

But if the rotation is fun? Some times I’ll go to 10k or more. But I’m a PvE fan.

You can also get chucks from Sheldon's Drone in Story mode, + cash, card packs, tickets, & duplicates of locker decorations.

Thank you so much for the tutorial! On top of school and other things I don’t have time to grind like 9 hours a day so this really helped! ❤️

For tips with salmon run, hazmy's channel is really good, plus there's a community pool with other experienced players which cuts down on really bad teamates, plus the salmon report that he puts out per rotation is extremely useful in gauging whether or not a rotation is more insanity than its worth

You can also replace the main ability on a piece of clothing to get 6 chunks back (or 3 of each for special abilities) but it's pretty costly and a net loss on chunks.

It would be nice to see a sequel to this video where we dive into options created by Lean Yoshi's website. Since you can determine the order of ability unlocks on gear and use certain drinks to make sure you get the ones you want, you could do that and scrub your gear. And if players are willing to invest the time and money/snails, getting gear to five starts makes the process faster too. It's not a perfect solution, as it does take a bit of time, money, and possibly several tickets, but at least you can be absolutely certain that you'll get the chunks you want. On gear where a chunk is favored, the matching drink sometimes puts the liklihood of getting that ability chunk to 100% lol

Splatfest tees are great for farming chunks
wear them use a drink ticket (not for the rng boost. for the xp boost)
Scrub after every win. (you don't even lose money because scrubbing the splatfest tee is so cheap that you get it all back the next round)

sea snails are also best used on amiibo gear
