Σύμφωνα με δημοσιεύματα σε ελληνικά μέσα ενημέρωσης, τα οποία επικαλούνται πληροφορίες από τουρκικά, ο Τούρκος πρόεδρος Ταγίπ Ερντογάν, μιλώντας σε προεκλογική εκδήλωση, εξαπέλυσε μια ευθεία απειλή, εναντίον της Ελλάδας και πιο συγκεκριμένα του λίκνου του Δυτικού πολιτισμού, της πρωτεύουσας Αθήνας, λέγοντας ότι αν οι Έλληνες δεν κάτσουν φρόνιμα, δεν κάτσουν καλά, τότε ο πύραυλος TAYFUN, θα χτυπήσει την Αθήνα.
Ειδικότερα, ο Τούρκος δημοσιογράφος Ragip Soylu, ανάρτησε στο Twitter, ότι ο Ερντογάν είπε τα εξής:
"H Ελλάδα φοβάται τους πυραύλους μας.
Λένε ότι ο πύραυλος ΤAYFUN θα χτυπήσει την Αθήνα, θα την χτυπήσει, εκτός και αν είστε φρόνιμοι."
Αυτές βέβαια τις απίστευτες δηλώσεις του Τούρκου προέδρου, έσπευσαν πολύ γρήγορα οι περισσότεροι να τις χαρακτηρίσουν, ως ένα προεκλογικό πυροτέχνημα, ώστε να κερδίσει όσες περισσότερες ψήφους μπορεί, από τους Τούρκους ακραίους εθνικιστές, καθώς οι τελευταίες δημοσκοπήσεις δείχνουν, ότι χάνει τις εκλογές που έρχονται.
Παρόλα αυτά όμως, παραμένουν ακραίως παραληρηματικές και θα πρέπει να απαντηθούν με την πρέπουσα δυναμική από την Ελληνική πλευρά.
Άλλωστε αν ο TAYFUN μπορεί να φτάσει στην Αθήνα, και οι SCALP μπορούν να φτάσουν βαθιά μέσα στην Τουρκία.
