I thought I would tell you a little about me so you could relate to the woman behind the makeup. I feel that I have so many friends in this community that I thought I would tell you my back story of hardships, loss, triumphs and joy. I also wanted to talk a little about my journey of aging and what it means to me. Many times I answer questions in the comments and you might hear a voice of empathy. Many times I've been through what you are going through. So behind the fashionista and beauty Youtube vlogger for women over 50 and over 60 here is my story from my heart.- Heather
**Note: You still pay the same as what Amazon always charges, but we make a bit of commission, so THANKS for that!

Wow. Heather, your story really resonated with me. As a former abuse victim in a marriage many years ago, and I have a grown son from it. Thank you so much for sharing. We survived. And we thrive now.

Thank you for sharing you are so sweet ...I also came from a first marriage history of domestic violence. And it's good to hear that other people can just be open about what they went through and not try to keep it hidden

Thank you for sharing. I know it’s not easy to share a painful past — I haven’t shared too much of mine. God bless you, and I’m so glad you broke the cycle!
My story is different in that my father died shortly before my 9th birthday, and my mother didn’t know to how to handle it. She never remarried, and did a lot for us, but rarely did anything with us. Her frustrations left her expecting perfection from us that wound up in her being verbally abusive. It has taken us all years to delve trough it. Fortunately for me I met my husband shortly before my 16th birthday and we both needed each other. He came from an alcoholic family, was the only one to graduate college but wasn’t even going to go (in spite of many academic scholarships) until we met and I convinced him he could! He retired a couple of years ago after over 44 years as a software engineer, programmer, and department manager in IT. Sadly, my mother never changed. We took care of her in her later years. What has helped me most is my deep relationship with the Lord. He has helped me forgive the hurtful words that continued throughout her life and her hurtful actions. They say hurt people, hurt people — unless you break the cycle. The Lord really helped me to see her hurt and her need. And so it is on the Lord we lean.
Bless you, Heather! I remember several of the pictures you’ve shared. It’s wonderful to know the person behind those sweet pictures! You were and are a beautiful lady!

Thanks for sharing your story. As a survivor of abuse (growing up & in 2 marriages) I totally relate. Children learn what they live. I, too, finally found my true love 10 years ago & am peacefully happy with him. You are beautiful inside & out :)

Now I understand why I like you so much and why I found this video so moving. Like you I was abused, like you I left home at seventeen, and like you I became a model. Thank you Heather for visiting me every week through

I've watched this twice! Abuse ran in our family as well and I am childless because of it. I applaud you for talking about this. That dingy little apartment was a life saver for you! My ex is extremely wealthy and lives on the beach in La Jolla, CA. I just live. Same cycle in my family too. Thank you for sharing. I can relate to you! XOXO

God Bless you, Heather! Thank you so much for sharing your story. Like you said we all have a story. I have had some abuse in my life, but I am better having come through it. I have also had some mental illness (even fewer people talk about THAT - Heaven forbid). But I keep moving forward. The Lord has helped me. Also, my husband of over 33 years and I owe so much to my folks and siblings, and other family members. I had an Aunt Mary who died at my exact age from brain cancer. You know what she always had the best attitude. Do you know what she would say? God is good all the time! You know what? She was 100% correct! Kind Regards, Mitzi Ann

Heather, thank you for sharing your story. I greatly enjoy your videos, the topics, but most of all your personality. You are an inspiring and cheerful woman. Now I feel like I can relate to you more. I met my husband in the summer of 1972. We married and had two sons. We enjoyed 46 years of togetherness, and in November 2018, I lost him due to illness. I miss him terribly, but I'm so grateful for all the life we shared, especially our family. For me this is a new chapter in my life, and one I am determined to live to the best of my ability. I live alone, but I am blessed with my family and friends. This year I'm looking forward to a trip to London and Ireland with my best friend and my 24 year old granddaughter (girl power)! Keep on inspiring us all!

Thank you Heather for being opened mind. Your story so similar to my life story. We are the same age, made through Abusive childhood, abusive marriage, single mom life with 2 children in 1990s. And happy in our 60s. Thanks for positive example.

I loved hearing your story! Thank you so much. ❤🤗
I am a survivor too... you give me hope there will be love again. Divorced 10 years from a 23 year abusive marriage, then more narcissists and a sociopath. I gave up trying for almost 5 years, concentrating on healing... but maybe love is coming soon.
