North Korea has warned it will launch a "pre-emptive and offensive nuclear strike" in response to joint US-South Korean military exercises.

The war games, which began on Monday, are part of an annual test of defences against North Korea.

Government leaders in Seoul said they will be the largest ever - after the North launched a long-range rocket and conducted another nuclear bomb test.

The UN Security Council last week voted to impose its toughest sanctions against North Korea in two decades.

North Korea dismissed them and warned of "merciless" steps in response.

Do sanctions deter North Korea's ambitions? And can diplomacy work?

Excellent presentation!

Just in case you, or any of your viewers, are interested, I'd like to work on the idea/ concept of nations replacing the use of economic sanctions and embargoes, with economic incentives. I'm trying to find ways to test the idea, and how and/or why they might be more effective.

Perhaps someone knows how to create a computer game to test the idea among multiple users. This may help identify and off-set perverse effects in advance.

Again, thanks

britain and the US should do what they did to iraq and invade North Korea. North Korea has so many nuclear weapons and theres a much larger threat that north korea holds than iraq did because of all their weaponary.
