8” x 8” Ampersand Floaterfame in the new walnut finish

erinkeane_artist: Did you know that Ampersand makes floater frames in luscious walnut? This is a new product and I can confirm it is GORGEOUS. I am over the moon and wanted to share the gorgeousness. Here I am framing a mini panel of a new work titled Infinite Promise (the biggie / original is not yet finished... stay tuned).

I have a few tips for framing encaustic work in a floater frame.

First, I place the panel inside the floater frame and use cardboard, mat board, or chipboard to center and stabilize my panel. Then I lay a piece of cardboard wrapped in wax paper onto my encaustic surface to protect it and lay another panel on top before flipping to the backside. I find this helps me keep the panel in place while attaching the frame.

On this mini 8” x 8” x 1.5” panel, I am using the deep floater frame with a bold face. Ampersand floater frames feature precisely constructed reinforced corners, a wider drill base, and pre-drilled countersunk mounting holes. All mounting and hanging hardware is provided including mounting screws, screw eyes, a hanger, picture wire, and bumper pads. These frames also come in black, white, and maple.

It is the third artwork in a small series that reminds me of field sketches, made in the meadow of Sam Knob NC.
