Ferrari's bold claim about its 2022 F1 car development

There was a lot of scope for recovery for Ferrari in the 2021 Formula 1 season, given how mediocre it was in 2020 with its serious power shortfall and compromised aerodynamics.
So third place in the constructors’ championship with five podiums and two pole positions formed a respectable season in the second year of Ferrari’s recovery.
But MUCH more is expected from F1’s oldest giant. Whether that can be delivered in 2022 depends on the success of its major car and engine developments.
If Ferrari’s bold claim about its 2022 Formula 1 car is anything to go by, the Scuderia is pulling out all the stops in its bid to be a title challenger again.

There's something about their attitude last season that makes me think they may actually have reasons to be confident. Basically because I got the impression they were quietly working away in the background knowing 22 was the real opportunity for them. Considering that they also did well at trackside operations to run the 21 campaign knowing full well that they weren't throwing too much at it. Fingers crossed for them as they need wins again now. It's Binnoto's last chance I reckon. If they can show we'll early doors then that'll be a good story for the sport. If it's a dog then his days will be numbered.

The Ferrari in the thumbnail is gorgeous. Hope Ferrari decides to use a more lively red rather than their recent matte red.

It would be awesome to have Ferrari back at the front. If not for the title, to take some big points from whoever is fighting for the championship.

Right now we have Schrodinger's teams. Everyone is title contender as well as backmarker. And we won't know until first few races of the season.

I am worried about the engine freeze. If one manufacturer is significantly better than the rest then we will have a four year procession to look forward to.

I'll believe it when I see it. There have been many false dawns at ferrari over the last 15 years. They keep under performing their potential considering they have the biggest advantages of any team on the grid. However, things are looking very promising for ferrari this season. Especially since they appeared to do very little work on their car during 2021 with most of their performance coming from updating their engine (not hard considering how far they started back). They appeared to switch their development very early to the new regs and Mercedes and RB put so much effort into the title fight last year.
I can definitely see ferrari and mclaren battling it at the front this year as both teams have looked a lot better and were able to switch development early on. It is however difficult to count out Mercedes as they have just been so good for the last generation of cars.

Even if they have the best car. I am sure they will find a way to mess it up. :D

Speaking of Ferrari, I think a great video idea revolving around history would be what made the 2004 Ferrari F2004 one of the fastest cars to ever be built in GP history. What were the key changes made from the 2003 car to the 2004 car and what special aerodynamic, chassis, and engine features made that car so fast that it's relatively not that far off the pace from the outgoing generation of f1 cars that were the fastest in history.

But Ferrari has also said that they treated the fight with McLaren as a "championship" fight. But in the end, it all depends on who do you ask. If you ask Merc fans they will say that Merc switched focus to the 2022 car after the launch of the 2017 car. You ask RB fans and they will tell that they have been developing the 2022 car since 2014. Etc. Where everybody agrees is that Haas didn't develop the 2021 car at all after the launch.

A Carlos win or a Charles home win would make these upgrades worth it in my opinion. Hopefully they're up there fighting for the championship though.

Would be great to have them back at front . Even better if Lando and Daniel joins the party . Had enough of just RB and Merc now

McLaren is revealing their car on my birthday! I hope Lando and Carlos can win a few races, and I hope Charles wins the world championship!

I believe them, they have lots of resources and experience. I genuinely think they can be a title contender

Until everyone's cards are on the table and each team's performance envelope is known... it can only be speculation and hopes. It doesn't matter how fast you tink you are, all that matters is where you stack up against the pack and none of the cars have iht the track yet.

Love to see Charles amongst it. He's a top driver

Unless it is deliberate diversion tactics it seems strange that Binotto would give so much away, always better to say very little and show the progress on the track.

Haven't watched F1 much since around 2012 and am keen to get back into it. Last season has reignited the interest. Hoping to see both Ferrari and McLaren fighting for wins

I’m a Ferrari fan but I highly doubt it. I’d be surprised if they get more than one win and three pole positions. At this point I could care less about the individual driver standings as long as they get second or better in the championship.
