The Balfour Declaration - 100 years on

To mark the 100th blood-soaked year of the Balfour Declaration, the CPGB-ML and Red Youth will be supporting this meeting, to be held THIS SUNDAY, 19 November 2017; 2-5pm in London.
Venue: Community Centre, 62 Marchmont Street, London. WC1N 1AB
Harpal Brar, Chairman of the CPGB-ML, and author of "Imperialism in the middle East" will speak at this timely event, hosted by the Stalin Society.
He will sketch the historical significance of the Balfour declaration and outline the nature of Zionism, which has been, from its conception and throughout its implementation, a racist and colonial ideology, dedicated to creating "there in the middle east a loyal jewish ulster in a sea of potentially hostile arabism" in order to help Britain, and later the USA dominate the middle east, its labour, markets and crucially, its raw material - in particular, its oil.
Despite Balfour's fatuous wording and pledge not to 'harm the interests' of the Palestinian Arabs, his declaration - addressed to the Zionist Banking magnate, and plutocrat, Lord Rothschild, in return for an undertaking that the Zionist movement would use its influence to urge the US President to enter WW1 - has been the document that signalled the go-ahead for the creation of Israel: an apartheid colonial state, founded on the dispossession of its inhabitants, and crushing the rights of those indigenous Palestinian arabs under the jackboot of the zionist colonial settlers. All in the interests of the profits of the major imperialist powers.
