28 Things You Missed In The Hereditary Trailer

A closer look at some of the things you may have missed in the trailer for the new A24 film being hailed as 2018's scariest.

Hereditary has scared it's way through Sundance Film Festival and now it's on it's way to the public with a new trailer highlighting the disturbing ticks of a family in mourning. A creepy little and girl, disturbed teenage boy and crazy raging mother make up the cast of director Ari Aster's debut feature film.

In this episode of Things You Missed, we'll be taking a closer look at the trailer and all the strange inconsistencies it's begging it's audience to notice.

We'll also further examine the disturbing references, creepy hereditary traits, small details and figurines and strange guests at a funeral. This movie looks to be filled with miniscule details placed with the intent of psychologically unnerving it's audience, and here at CZsWorld, those are exactly the kinds of Things You Missed I love to see.

The necklace is the sigil of Paimon, a goetic demon from the keys of solomon. Look it up on google, it's the same symbol. It's actually a bit disappointing that they tipped their hand so hard to anyone with the knowledge to spot that - it makes me worry that this might turn out to just be a demon movie. I can see it now, the grandma promised her granddaughter to the demon and that's why she's all fucked up and why grandma was fussy over her. Still, even if it ends up being about Paimon or any other demon, the presentation is ultimately what matters, and it seems like they nailed that part.

The powers of Paimon specifically include knowledge of all events currently taking place, essentially spying. Makes me think of the miniatures and the way the house is sliced open to make all of it visible. Also he was supposedly capable of reanimating the dead for several years at a time.

Notice in the funeral scene in beginning trailer - it's a different funeral - father is wearing a striped tie. No striped tie in the church scene. Plus she is crying hysterically as if she lost a child - not a mother who she clearly had some weird relationship with. I think the daughter dies and the funeral scene is the daughter's funeral. That explains why the people in attendance are different than the ones in the church scene where she is clearly eulogizing her mother. Father's tie is solid shade in the church scene. 2 different funerals. :)

3 figures on the necklace - Maiden, Mother, Crone. Also the 3 faces of the Greek witch goddess Hecate. Guessing it’s a witchcraft thing down the female line? Can’t wait to see this film.

I completely love this movie. Everything was so dense and well-thought and smart in every ways... I also love that the director took LOTS of references from other horror classics such as The Ring (2002), End of Days (1999, coincidently or not, Gabriel Byrne plays the devil in this classic)

My theory is that the daughter dies midway film. The first scene of the trailer, in which Collete is hysterical, would happen at her daughter's funeral. That would explain why the daughter isn't spotted at that scene and would also explain why Collette is hysterical at the burial, but not at her mother's service. It may not be the daughter who dies midway film, but I am pretty sure that the first scene happens at the burial of some other family member of Collette's character: given that her mother died after being hospitalized for a very long time, her death was probably expected and there would be no reason to be hysterical.

The girl has facial features of an older woman, which makes it creepy.

I just saw Hereditary and was well done, I also just saw your intro on analyzing of the film before seeing it yourself. I'm amazed how you went into great detail on all the clues before seeing the movie, I'm very impressed how you saw so many things about the movie in the trailer. Well done

Indoor wind chimes ward off evil spirits and if they move it let’s you know a spirit is there. I’m 3rd generation Irish from the Appalachian mountains my memmaw taught us all this little things to do like covering up mirrors etc we still have wakes when a death occurs casket in the home and all lol

The bird that hits the window and the birds head that she cuts off appears to be the same. The way you said it it sounds like there were 2 different birds

Hmmmm .. the little girl looks like a bird, seems to be obsessed with birds, and she lives in a treehouse that looks very much like a birdhouse. The necklace that the grandmother is wearing looks like 3 birds on branches.
Hereditery = the three females are birds of a feather ?

This really seems like it's going to be an intelligent, mature and thought provoking film .. made for people who takes their horror seriously.
God, I hope the hype is true.
We really need a great horror film that doesn't disappoint and completely satisfies the fans.
