For the Europeans here I can highly recommend the LaRoche Posay Anthelios XL wet skin gel SPF50. It comes in a large tube and is super water, sand and sweat resistant. It can be easily reapplied even on wet skin after swimming. It is lightly scented, but the scent is barely noticeable and not a "typical sunscreen" scent. It has dimethicone in it, so it feels non greasy or sticky and sweat does evaporate well.

The Eucerin 50 is my absolute favorite body SPF this summer for my over 50 very dry skin, fabulous!!

For body, I've been LOVING Banana Boat Light as Air SPF 50. Best sunscreen for body I've ever used! Light, 100% non-greasy, no white cast. It is chemical, and I can't use that on my face, but for body, I ADORE this one! Hope they never stop making it!

Absolutely agree about the Bondi Sands face and body sunscreen being the same! The body sunscreen is quite a bit cheaper and has better packing in my opinion - lid stays closed and you have more control with dispensing the product. My top pick for a cost effective cruelty free sunscreen!

Thank you, Dr. Dray! This is so timely, as I am trying to swim laps for about 40 min everyday, and I cannot always time that for when the pool is in shade. Most sunscreen reviewers only talk about sweat and a little splashing, rather than real swimming. Last year, despite using 50 and up, I still got color and more freckles. I do use water polo suits which work well. Those with arms are good protection, but have some drag while swimming. One problem I have with water resistant on my face is under my goggles. Some sunscreens won't bother me normally, but under my goggles sting like crazy. I like swimming without a cap, but have started using one for sun protection and keeping water out of my ears. My favorite is one by Tyr for use in open water swimming, Warm Wear. It says heat retention, but I don't find it too hot even here in SoCal in triple digits. Happy swimming!! It is a great addition for a runner.

Bondi Sands ordered! That is exactly what I’ve been looking for on daily use for work and errands.

La Roche Posay body sunscreens have been my go-to for a few years. Works so well for me. I got the UVmune version you’ve mentioned in a previous video from the UK and OMG. I used it ONE DAY and immediately ordered a second tube. Maybe one day we’ll get bigger bottles/tubes of it. It’s effective and a great moisturizer for my somewhat dry skin on my face.

Target also makes a large bottle of body oil from the Up & Up brand for around $5-$6. That’s what I use to remove my sunscreen.

I've recently fallen back in love with the Eucerin Daily Hydration (previously Everyday Protection) Spf 15 body moisturizer for daily use. It's definitely not enough protection for outdoor activities, but it's so easy and convenient to apply to my arms and legs on days when I don't get much sun exposure (I work evenings), and ends up being less than $1 an oz! For more sun-intensive days or outdoor activities, I've been liking the Bondi Sands and SunBum sunscreens (neither are comfortable enough for me to use everyday, especially since I have a fairly active indoor job, but have been working for me on the days that I get more sun).

I have been loving banana boat weightless protection while on vacation. SPF 50 and water resistant

Dr Dray, I'm so glad that you hve persisted and have been enjoying your swimming. You are very fortunate that you have a pool within your apartment grounds. I used to have a pool at home, but found it too wasteful to fill it up and maintain it just for myself, as I was the only swimmer.
Swimming is so good for physical and mental health.
I swim at my local indoor aquatic centre all throughout the year to avoid thr sun.
Ideally, I would like my own indoor swimming pool...that glamourous Moroccan aesthetic with decorative tiles and palm trees.

-I used up a whole bottle of the Eucerin Advanced Hydration SPF 30. It was ok, but it rubs off white on surfaces you might touch (armrest). It was also pretty greasy. I suspect it could leave a white cast on darker skin tones.
-I haven't had any luck with US LRP sunscreens. The melt-in one left a cast on me.
-Bondi Sands is awesome 👍the SPF 50 face is shinyyy on my oily skin
-Neutrogena body oil has been pretty good for removing spf. Sometimes I still need more

My vote is the for the liter bottle of Altruist. Undefeated in my mind (both price and performance). Feels like any basic lotion (NOT at all sticky) and works like a charm in the most intense situations.

My favorite brands that you can buy in Germany:
-Ladival, the one for sun allergy prone skin. I never get sun allergy when I use it. Never.
- V.Sun, the pink one. It feels like normal bodylotion and has a really nice smell. I love that one for everyday

So I follow Dr V who specializes in skin of color and she has a zero tolerance on skin irritants and she pushes in mineral sunscreens, she also has her own line which are great products but she live in the UK and it makes her line products very much expensive. I’ve pretty much tried to search high and low looking for sunscreen that won’t stain my clothes and furniture but also accommodates my skin type. I’ve been actively avoiding the actives that are considered toxic, so I’ve been avoiding chemical sunscreens but honestly I have come to give up on my search for my mineral sunscreen holy grail. Thanks for the recommendations I really will just look into these products instead. They are within good reach and prices and will provide with daily/season conditions.

I wear sunscreen on my face and body 365 days/year, any day the sun rises in the East! Even in winter, when I am wearing multiple layers and the UV is much lower--because sometimes I get hot and scrunch up my sleeves or take off my sweater. I wish the manufacturers would make and stores would stock more 2-in-1 type moisturizing sunscreens all year round, not just in the summer. I like to put some on as soon as I get out of the shower in the morning, and in winter I'm not looking for a water-resistant thick mineral sunscreen paste to wear under my clothes. Lubriderm used to have a nice one--even if it was only SPF 15--but it looks like they stopped making it. Eucerin has a good one now, though the new SPF 30 one is thicker and takes a lot more time to rub into the skin, which is an annoyance when you're already late for work! We should be wearing sunscreen any day our skin is exposed to sun--and not just on our faces. So I wish manufacturers would get on board with the idea of everyday sunscreens--even if they're only SPF 30--that we can wear on days we're not spending hours in the sun.
