Only remove the leaves if the corn husks are fully grown otherwise it will stunt the corns. I tried few yrs ago cutting the leaves shorter and that was a big fail.

Nice cross farming. But this also means that you have to handle weeds manually, because using chemical to treat weeds may kill the potatoes

It is not removing, it's taking corn leaves to feed cattle.
I used to do it.
But anyways it is beautiful, I saw corn plantation, asian taking food for cattle and sweet potatoes growing in the soil.
